Not the most inspiring of signings but we are scratching around for Home Grown players.
But we already have one homegrown left-back, would it not make more sense to look for a homegrown right-back?
Left-back is a position we've been crying out for a world class addition for years now and never seem to do it. Clichy is a very good defender but beyond the halfway line is close to useless and too often ends up padding his pass completion stats with Nasri as they go around in circles (when both play). This is one position we should be looking for the *very best* we can find, not a position to pad the homegrown numbers. Rose has had a good season but, just like Kolarov and Clichy, is not good enough to take that position to the next level IMO. For a club that is reluctant to use a natural left winger, a great left-back is even more important.

We could move Clichy on as well, He has only 2 years left on his contract and like Kolarov he is 30 years old so we have to start looking around for younger replacements from now.

I agree, we're so unbalanced as a team and it needs sorting in the summer, it's what makes us so predictable imo, a strong left side would be a vast improvement and give us a new dimension.

My other halfs dad is a lifelong Spurs ST holder and he has nothing good to say about Rose. Last season he stated that him, Walker and Naughton share half a brain between them and that they'd never go anywhere good with any of them in the team (and he's normally a pretty reasonable guy when it comes to judging players). He's shit. Pochetino is great at hiding how bad his defenders are, but even then Rose is average at best. I don't get the link at all. Why get a HG left back who is even worse than the homegrown leftback we already have? Hopefully this is just paper bullshit, otherwise I have no idea what our scouts see in him
