I can see you like a good debate, by the way I think DS is first class, but only if he SHOWS he wants to play for us and commits to us long-term, otherwise in your own style of debate, lets all call him a RAG.

he should have been signed up last year, but with all the chaos it never happened, it seems.
you can hardly blame him for holding out for a good deal, i don't think it's fair to interpret it as a lack of loyalty under the circumstances.

I think some of you are missing the point of the OP - he is saying if he isnt going to sign a contract then get some money in now rather than risk losing him for nothing.

However as he is 23 and brought up through the ranks are we entitled to some compensation if he lets his contract run out anyway?

According to that article he hasn't been offered a new contract yet...

Which, if true, kinda makes your argument redundant..?

I think he's a quality player and if possible we should keep him.

But if he feels his chances are going to be limited with us and therefore that his future lies elsewhere, then good luck to him...

But, as I say, I'd prefer him to stay.

Sturridge came over to the Citizens suite after the Forest game and faced some awful questioning by Gary Owen, but one of the questions was about his contract, he said he had left it to his Dad to look after but he was in discussions with the club, so this piece in the press is bollox anyway.

Villa fans are fucking mongs, they actually think they are the pinacle of English talent. Abbonglahor is good, Young was poached, Barry is over rated, Milner is wank and then they have Shorey who they all want rid of. Why do they get so much recognition when we have Hart, Onouha, Richards, SWP, Johnson and Sturridge.
