Welbeck is a better player than he's being given credit for on here

His general game is very good, but his finishing is not great. He could do a good job for a top 4 club, and it might be enough to get Arsenal 4th at the expense of Utd.
Don't kid yourself .
I think Man United have done really good business selling Welbeck .
Welbeck wouldn't get in are team .
Welbeck in the same league as Guidetti light weight .

He's supposed to have been quoted as saying he is pleased by the move as he wants Champions League football. Nearly wet myself laughing when I saw that. That's brilliant.

16m is steep but i'm thinking this is a very decent signing for Arsenal.

He is very fast, direct and commited, doesnt score the amount he should presently,however.....give Arsenals supply line we may well see a more prolific player.

I think he'll do very well.
he might. Only his finishing is deficient. Will suit Arsenal's style and if he gets regular football, I think he might come good too.

But Arsenal were thinking of themselves as title contenders when the season started. For that you need players who are the finished product. They are going to have to rely on him immediately with Giroud out for some time. he's the main man now. No learning curve

I agree only thing he is bobbins at is his gaol scorning

Thing about Wellbeck is he aint really what Arsenal need. He's very skillfull, two footed, fast, good in the air, can dribble and his one touch link up play is excellent, but Arsenal need a man in the box who can twat the ball into the back of the net. The sort of goal poacher who finishes off a series of passes, like Hernandez.

They went for the wrong guy.

For the love of God, let that be true! But probably bollocks.........

James London on the BBC site: Arsenal could've had Remy for 10mil but instead plump up 16 for Welbeck. Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear. I feel for the fans.

He wouldn't get in our team, but he's got aspects to his game that are very good. Our strikers are World Class, players at their peak. Welbeck is still developing and just needs regular games to come on. Trouble is he's a bit like Sanogo. A prospect.

I don't think Ferguson will be too happy seeing one of his proteges going to a rival.
