Darren Cann | Named as linesman vs Palace for his final game (p11)

I'd be surprised if they changed anything. They don't care if something looks corrupt or not because I think they feel they are not corrupt at all. They just believe all of their officials are great in every way and beyond reproach. They probably feel untouchable from a moral perspective and and an administration perspective. So in their eyes there's no issue with this and no issue that we can't do anything about it.

But this could have been said in the past about many a biased/corrupt institution. The old boys in the old boys clubs genuinely believed they were doing no wrong.

If this is true then the club should be putting in an official complaint to the FA. This just goes to show that the FA are biased against us and will do what ever they can to stop us winning any trophies this and any other season.

The time is right for all man city fans to be e-mailing the FA and pointing out this conflict of interest. Also right to all the papers as well.

It'll be even more interesting to see whether he makes a 'mistake' that costs us something or other during the match.

I was always under the impression growing up that the FA wouldn't appoint anyone to officiate a team that's within a 30 mile radius of where they are from. I seem to remember watching a Lincoln match as a nipper and being slightly aggrieved that the referee was from Durham, and they were playing Darlington. He had a terrible match and cost Lincoln 3 points.

Hopefully this gets a lot of publicity, and the FA will be shown for what they are.
Surely someone at the FA or maybe Cann himself has highlighted the conflict of interest, only for someone to say "yes we know, fuck em"
Bent twats.

The issue for me is not that he will be biased or cheat but there is a good chance he will make a mistake and this is manifestly unfair on him, never mind City. Imagine he misses an offside. If it's for City he'd be accused of trying to show he wasn't biased and if against City, well we know how that would look.
I'd be amazed if he is not taken off this game considering he was taken off the 2008 play off semi final between Palace and Bristol City. The press highlighted the story and he was removed, although the Bristol City manager (Gary Johnson) said he wasn't bothered.

Exactly. I suspect he's professional enough not to have any bias towards Palace. He may even hate them for all we know. But it seems ludicrous for the FA to put him in this situation when they could so easily switch him with any one of the other linesmen doing FA Cup games that weekend and avoid all charges of suspicion.

Surely now the club needs to grow a pair and fuck these horrible bent bastards over it's starting to get laughable now we are becoming the easy club fa think fuck em they do Nowt anyway we need to make ourselves heard and once and for all take a stance otherwise this will continue indefinitely .

Surely City have contacted the F.A. about this?

Imagine what the press would say and do and if a former player of ours was a linesman for the game!

Stop it! I now have this insane vision of Jamie Pollock trundling up and down the line.
