Daunte Wright Killed by Minnesota Officer Following Traffic Stop

Even if true that he was a suspected criminal, this still isn't legitimate grounds for being summarily shot...

I understand it's likely a mistake. But the detainees possible past wouldn't change the charge coming to the officer.
I agree, it certainly isn't, but it does give credence to the reason he tried to flee.

As per the reply of a poster above, I'd have thought. If nobody could fathom why the bloke would tear off, I'd have thought being pulled for avoiding a charge for armed robbery, with a good chance of a very long stretch ahead,
may be some incentive. Perhaps that's why the article was published, to confirm this.
But what does that have to do with his homicide? Why he chose to flee isn’t important whether it was because of the warrants or because he wanted to have lunch with his Nan.

The bloke was shot, unlawfully, which after reading more about this in the last half hour, looks like manslaughter, which, justifiably will mean jail for the perpetrator. The article suggests, rightly or wrongly, that many have been presenting the case that Duante was not aware there was a warrant out for his arrest, these actions would shed light on that. So, take it up with them mate,
all I did was quote it.

Why he attempted to flee isn't at all in question.

He attempted to flee because he had an outstanding warrant - which he knew about.

The salient points are:

1) Why was he pulled over in the first place? - and;

2) Why did he subsequently die at the hands of police?

Maybe the do shed light on it. Maybe they don’t. It’s irrelevant, apart from the need of some people to try and justify the circumstances.

It‘s been declared a homicide and the police chief and officer have both resigned as a result.

The remaining circumstances will no doubt come out in any forthcoming trial.

Apparently there was a warrant out for his arrest, as indicated above.
It was for attempted aggravated robbery, choking and holding a woman at
gunpoint for $820 in 2019, which, if true, is armed robbery with violence.
The online speculation that he didn't know there was a warrant out for his address is false.
Found this just, a Mail exclusive, I put it in the BLM thread.

Struggling to contain your delight?

Say what you mean or get to fuck.
Just seems a bit weird to immediately attempt to impeach the character of a 20 year that’s just been unlawfully killed.

It’s a good job they don’t print the names of rape victims these days as rags like the Mail would again be running exclusives of how promiscuous the lady had been in the past when such things are irrelevant to the case.

If your narrative is correct why bother stopping at all? He probably had the best chance to escape before pulling over. Obviously it’s a hypothetical question and we will never know for sure.

Why he was pulled over remains secondary to the events that unfolded. The danger in making it “the question” is you lose sight of what actually happened and elevate the conversation to the stratosphere and nothing gets solved.
