David Bernstein for (Honorary) President

Fair enough, I won't ask if he was using them or not as that information is unlikely to be known.

Freddie Pye was always the one who stood out in the programme.
Is that the same Freddie Pye who managed Altrincham and became Chairman of Stockport. He made his money as a scrap metal dealer?

He was a regular in The Horseshoe pub on Droylsden Road, Newton Heath back in the day. To be fair, he was very friendly and chatty. Took no shit off the rags that went in.
I recall saying to him once, that through all the different regimes that have come and gone, you are still there ... He replied, 'That's because I know where all the bodies are buried'

His funeral at St Margaret's Catholic Church on Lord Lane, and the wake at Sul Lago (formerly Crime View Inn) near Daisy Nook, is likely the only time you will have seen so many past and present City players and managers in Failsworth. :-)
St Mary’s you heathen ;)

David Bernstein was one of the best appointments we have ever made. His foresight in securing the stadium was genius and the game changer in ADUG’s acquisition.
For me it’s an no brainer & a travesty he hasn’t already been bestowed with the honour.
The move from Maine Road to Etihad (CoMS) started, when Frannie was chairman.

Read in a day on holiday
Couldn’t put it down
Worth a read for any blue
It’s a brilliant book, normally takes me at least a month to read a book, only took me 2 days to read David’s.
It contained some interesting snippets, like circa 1999/2000 a premier league club proposed merger with us, which David immediately rejected.

Great to hear. My copy has just arrived, going in the suitcase, can't wait to start it.
