This isn't a vendetta against us and whilst I've enjoyed our success these past few years, I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel uncomfortable about where our money has come from. All fans with this kind of ownership should.
Don't tell me how I should feel.
I won't.
That's because your'e not sententious ;-)

I must admit i stopped scanning it about half way through.

I couldn't find one instance of the human rights abuses he outlines that aren't being carried out by the UK and US all over the world, today and every day, and far worse besides.
That says more about the state of the world than it does about MCFC.

Maybe Conn's next piece could be titled something like, 'Utd Owners Support Force Feeding and Blanket Bombing' or 'Chelsea peddle Sarin.

Considering our own Government's fairly ambivalent attitude towards the use of torture in "the national interest" it could equally be argued that the hugely successful English Premier League brand is used to 'launder' the UK's image overseas.

There's two elements to this, as I see it. The first is about Abu Dhabi. I'm not uncomfortable about their ownership of City but if they're using it to promote Abu Dhabi then they have to accept it can also be a stick to beat them with. They're far from the worst regime in the world; they're actually one of the most benevolent and they're treading a difficult line against the rise of Islamic fundamentalism. Occasionally human rights abuses occur but I live in a country where policemen have killed people and have not been held to account so I'm concerned that our owners have put themselves in this position but can't get too excited about a few beatings.

The second element is Conn himself. Whatever you may think of this article, he's a man of great integrity and one of the very few journalists writing about football who is capable of digging out a fundamental story and publishing it. For all his faults, I'd take one David Conn over 1,000 of those spineless, self-serving, agenda-promoting cowards like Custis and Beasley.

Whilst those article are not complimentary to the clubs, the headlines are nothing like the one attached to our piece but thanks for finding those so quickly David.....I'm mean ....err....geoff.

I am convinced that some of these journalists think they are intellectuals by turning out this crap all the time. U.nfortunately for us they all feel safe sticking the knife in us and ignoring others. Take that Matt Scott listen to him long enough and you will realise only Arsenal do nothing wrong. He said Abramovic only bought Chelsea for property development at Stamford Bridge 3 months ago - clearly forgetting the last 10 years. He is currently after the new Cardiff chairman but never asks how Usmanov got rich.
They are all self interested Pillocks making shite up and spewing it out as they please.

So I say F**K EM

David Conn

I won't say too much just yet as the article is quite a long one.

I assume Russian and US owners will be subject to the same sort of press.

Unfortunately such press only applies to the Muslim owner. All the others are running such perfect and honest business models.

Geoff, Anyone with any kind of ridiculous money would have something very dubious in their, their partner's, their family's, their ancentral history as part of how they got that level of riches or being part of keeping it or the showing power whilst having it.
