they do talk the odd bit of sense
Wouldn't ever go.
He's not going to be England's number 1 anymore for much longer anyway, seeing his age, should give Joe Hart a chance, he's the future number 1.
Anyhow, he's never going to leave Portsmouth, he's apparently totally devoted to Portsmouth and wants to help them get out of the hole.

well the bit about Hart

Must be paying him a bloody fortune.....turned down Celtic as well !! mmmmmmmmmmmm

Same league as Celtic anyway.

Personally, I rank The Championship above the SPL ;)

Good luck to James, interesting development, I thought Fulham would have snapped him up once (may "if" is a better word) Arsenal sign Schwarzer. Will be interesting to see who Hughes brings in if the transfer happens.

Fair play to DJ - great GK and a top bloke. Can't blame him for not going north of the border for a few quid extra. Hope he does well for Bristol ! Thanks for your time with us fella...

Good signing for Bristol.

I've always liked David James. In an age of money hungry agents and players brains being in their dick, James has always stood out as a Gentleman and pretty morally sound.
If he had still be unattached by midnight this evening Pompey would have owed him another £140k in severence pay, so in signing today he's saved them a few quid and shown his previous employers a lot of respect. Don't get me wrong, he's probably not short of a few quid but a nice gesture all the same.

Well he didn't show us much respect when Arry waved a brown envelope under his nose did he? He can fuck off.

Can't blame him for wanting to compete for trophies at his age at the time.

I live fairly near Bristol, been to a few Bristol City games over the years, not a bad club on the whole, plus its not common knowledge but there chairman Mr Lansdown is absolutely loaded, one of the richest guys in the country, forgive my ignorance but im not sure how he made his fortune, but he is Bristol born and bred, and although they dont usually shell out on huge signings, behind the scenes there a very well run club, that has no financial burdens or worries even, he just refuses to gamble on signing big players on premiership wages. Plus Bristol has been chosen as a host city if England are succesfull in there 2018 world cup bid, meaning a brand new 40,000 seater stadium being built, which will also become Bristol Citys new home ground, there a club that dont get much national news, but things are happening there, quietly, and slowly.
As for James he lives in Devon, just south of Exeter, and he wants to stay around the the south west, so it s just down the M5 for him.

Yes they won a trophy.
No one in their right mind would have said that was a possibillity at the time.
He left for more money along with distan and cole.

He left cus of his Girlfriend, Distin left as we were going down hill fast and he was loyal to his contract, and Cole left after we had paid him for being injured half a season, given him a new contract, and then he threatened to retire once offered more if we did not let him go. The first two did a lot more for us than we did for them, Cole however...
