David Platt

Anybody else notice that he seems to play a bigger part in assisting Mancini than Kidd does?

It's always Platt going through tactics/ instructions to subs before they come on
Platt sometimes does the post match interviews
Platt goes to watch other games with Mancini

Just an observation

Anyone on here met him in person? Saw him in Hale a while back. My kid asked for an autograph. He gave him one but didn't look at him once or engage in any conversation. My boy didn't notice, but I did and wanted to smack the big headed bastard.

Laughable.

Football is a business and David Platt is a professional coach employed by MCFC.

His reaction when we win is based on nothing more than a sense of doing his job well.

Whilst you may speculate that at times he may be sat at home with his feet up and enjoying a glass of red and relating positively to all things "swamp", any such affinity takes 2nd place to getting the job done and proving himself as a successful football coach (with the silverware to back it up!). Let's face it, after his debacle at Forest - and the prospect of ending-up as nothing more than yet another irrelevant talking-head Sky wanker (eg see Phil Thompson) - he had every right to be emotional at Wembley.

So maybe he's not like us - but I have no doubt that he is giving his all and playing his part in ensuring that we achieve the goals that all of us share.

There i's nothing whatsover to suggest otherwise.
You don't realise how wrong you are

I just knew the happiness concerning our club wouldnt last long. Its typical for our half empty fans that there has to be something to moan about and to be so full of hatred about someone involved in the City revolution is quite simply moronic when you think he maybe reading this.

-- Sat Sep 03, 2011 1:59 pm --

cant the tossers telling other blues to fuck off, fuck off!!

It looks like my reply to you was deleted, must have been a bit strong,so i'll edit it slightly!

When you slag off someone doing his best for our club you do damage to the club you claim to support. It has long been mooted there is a fifth column working inside City who it appears do everything to undo all the good work being done and like it or not 'fans' like you come into that catagory.

If you had a valid argument, like we were playing crap football, bottom of the league,Platt was disruptive then you may have a point. We have, however, just had the most succesful season in THIRTY FIVE years! We are playing superb football the likes of which i never thought i would see a City side play again in my lifetime.Like it or lump it,Platt is part of the managerial team responsible for that.

To say you don't like him because he is a ''Red t***'' is frankly a pathetic bigoted childish statement and yes i wish blues like you would go away and take your infantile views with you.

Polite enough Mr editor?[/quote]

look, i dont like the guy, end of. when i started watching city 30 odd years ago i never signed a contract to say i will stick my tongue up anyones arse who is employed by mcfc.
i have my own mind thanks.

What do you think of Clichy? He said he wouldn't ever 'sell out' and join us, but low and behold, here he is.

Who gives a fuck if he used to slag us off.

To be fair we usually slag off every player that doesn't play for us, then suddenly they are brilliant when they sign for us. lol

Platt's paid to do a job for us and I'd expect anyone who was to do it to the best of their abilities, player or coach. So I'm not going to come over all warm and misty-eyed about him simply because of that.

He wasn't paid to slag us off; that was his choice and that's what I'll remember.

I think Kiddo's role is far more involved on the training pitch that's why. It's what he's alway's done best.

I like him, despite reservations at first. Not because of anything he'd said, I just didn't like him. You are allowed opinions in sport. All I know is he played for a few Italian teams and Arsenal for a bit, so I come to the conclusion he knows his football and is probably helping translate things backstage, evidenced by the paper and pen we see him with. Whatever his reaction is for last season, money or love for the club the bloke is doing a very good job for us and I don't think we should be knocking one who is so obviously of our own and wants what we all want.

Nuff said.

I wouldnt mind you finding me the articles and clips were he slagged us off, i'm guessing i'll be waiting a while mind.

Platt's there to get Mancini's message across, an enforcer if you may.

Kiddo's there to ensure they don't fall off the wagon, a friend to all.

A diverse team like ours need all sorts of coaches, especially those that can get the best out of players.

-- Sat Sep 03, 2011 10:00 pm --

Don't be so fast to judge. I have heard, and seen, Platt slating our club, to the point that I wanted to tear his moustache off, but I haven't been able to find it through media sources. He was an absolute arse but now that he's on the team, although his words are not forgotten, he's tolerated.

This seems to be the continuing problem, anyone else who slates the club, i could find the stories in a jiffy, yet no one seems to have much evidence on platt.
