So Pep tells him "Look Dave, I don't want to see you scoring or having a shot"?
I think people underrate him by not counting him up there with Ozil and De Bruyne. He's still as good as ever.
He has never moved out of the top three PL midfielders in my opinion (the other two are that guy from Gran Canaria and the one who played a season or two with Valencia), even when a pass or two went astray. I think, unfortunately, that when the BeeB, Sky or BT do a 'Midfield Geniuses of the PL era' he'll ne'er get a mention. More assists than anyone! And I reckon a good quarter of those he could have scored himself.
Just like Colin Bell, he'll always get more recognition from City fans than those who only see him now and again.

By most people, yes.He is easily better than Ozil and will be remembered as such.
I think he's still better than both.I think people underrate him by not counting him up there with Ozil and De Bruyne. He's still as good as ever.
I think he's still better than both.
I think de Bruyne is too inconsistent still. David is almost always has a 7-9/10 game. de Bruyne sometimes has a 10 but also sometimes has a 4. Ozil is meeker than a meek man's meek bits, despite being a good player at times.

Armband aside, David's developing into a real leader and has developed a tougher edge over the last eighteen months. He's certainly picked up Fernandinho's habit of taking a booking for the sake of protecting against quick breaks.
The guy is evidently a vital part of Pep's plans. Which is odd when you consider he's a lightweight fancy dan who goes missing whenever we don't play Hull.
