Right. Am I off here or has he been slightly off this year? It'll be tweaked and ironed out for sure but he's been just barely off for me (that assist was golden of course).
He was outstanding yesterday.

Been awesome so far this season imo
Was travelling back from holiday on Saturday and only seen the MOTD highlights. How did spanish Dave do?
He didn't grab the headlines like some. But I thought he was fantastic. He was everywhere. He dictated play and knitted the team together.
He was often as deep as YaYa sometimes is, helping the back 3 with more option.
I thought he was fantastic personally.
He's like a master puppeteer, pulling the strings and providing the other players with the platform to show their skills. He actually knits the team together.
The Watford supporters next to me were raving about him after 20 minutes, said he was exceptional and running the game.
Exchanged a couple of brief messages yesterday with David before the plane took off back to Mcr
I asked him how he played he simply said "very good"... He must've had a good game for him to say that, trust me.
I didnt go to the game or get to watch it as I was dropping my lad off at Uni - poor excuse I know [emoji23]
Hopefully David gets a rest on Wednesday - gets tough 3 in a week at his age !
He's as good as Xavi in that role in my opinion and I hope he keeps going for a few more seasons.
The fact that he's still racking up assists from a deeper position is testament to his class.
The fact is we have the two best midfield players in the Premier League as well as the big guy that used to be the best.I don't think he is as good as Xavi in that regard but I don't think I've seen anyone better than Xavi. Dave is getting better at it and he is better at moving with the ball than Xavi. Dave is becoming a genuine cross between Xavi and Iniesta. I'm truly thrilled by what I am seeing from him at the moment and just hope he keeps it up.
I note our old friend Joey Barton was praising Merlin as being the best player in the Premier League and I actually think Dave has gone under the radar a bit this season due to the spotlight being shone on his partner in crime.
