Mate, no one takes a word you say seriously. Don’t bother tagging me, go and play stats somewhere.
Yes but what @Dax777 said was correct.

It's always been pie in the sky to say Silva can play 5 more years ...not at a team like City chasing 4trophies and playing at an extremely high tempo.it's been madness to over play the little magician these past two years when suitable younger goal hungry midfielders are eager to play.complete and utter madness.

To be fair to David Silva..he has probably been our most kicked/ targeted player this last decade.I've lost count of the times he has been left writhing around in pain on the pitch after another blow to his ankles which opponents are aware are his weak spot. ..
This must have had an effect on form and fitness which is probably a factor in his reduced effectiveness for us. I don't think I have ever seen another City player in such pain repeatedly over the years. The arsenal semi final a few years back where he was butchered ..and eventually carried off..with no protection from the refs..a prime example.
I have been vocal in my reasons for wanting his game time reduced for the last 18 months. .but I have to say this player has taken many many blows for Manchester City. ..and never retaliated or complained or sought retribution. ..for such consumat professional play...Silva ..I salute you.

This probaly would of slowly started happening last year but with all the time off he had and rightly so , when he played he was fresh. This year he’s training everyday and playing high intensity games every 3 days

KDBs injuries have probably placed too big of a burden on him this season. While I see definite decrement in his performances, especially late this season, I’m willing to give him a summer off to recuperate and see if he still has the kegs next year. If not, there are two great players ready, willing and able to slot in his position (Bernardo & Foden).

Ok I will reason with you , do you think David Silva is Manchester City’s best player ever ?

I can go back to 1967 and have seen some truly great City players and I have no hesitation in saying David Silva is up there with them all.

Fine if you dont rate him, but to come on here and make out he has been poor for 80% of his time with us makes you look a complete fuckwit. You are either pissed / drugged up or mummy doesn't know you are up posting so late.

As a matter of interest, lets us all see who you believe are our top 5 players ever

Ah lads, let's not start talking him down, it makes no sense.
He was a pure joy to watch over so many years AND he is one of the finest lads we ever have had. No?

We simply have to accept his career fading out, but we can't predict the tempo.
Pep is closer to him than us and David himself will be very honest about his current shape of body and mind.

I think he is playing too high sometimes, edge of the box should be his limit to do the final pass.
Pep wants to have many players in the box and that's fine, but David's not a beast in front of goal
and I physically suffer to see him miss best chances, I really do.

He still is one of the best to play throughballs or retaining the ball when needed.
Let the strikers and young wingers run riot in the box, also fullbacks now and then, or the right AM.

We should celebrate his final year til 2020 and Pep will manage him to his strengths.
And in the meantime City's journey will go on, that's the way it is.

I think reports of his demise may well have been exaggerated. He’s out of form, it doesn’t mean he’s finished.

He’s been written off before by Dax and the like. Said his legs have gone. Can’t do it at the top level. And then he went and became a Centurion and won our Player of the Season.

But the ones who wrote him off didn’t seem to be so forthcoming in admitting they made a mistake.

He has played too many games this year, I agree. KDB being out has made sure of that.

Giggs was written off at 32 after a couple of iffy seasons, then came back and played the best football of his career in his late 30s. Silva has a similar wiry physique and doesn’t rely on pace, so there may well be gas in the tank left yet.

Silva may not recover from this season, who knows? But I find it a little disrespectful to write him off completely just yet. Especially when the same people have written him off before and ended up with egg, all over their faces.
