Lovely to see, spent a relatively insignificant time at Sociedad yet is treated like a player who spent his entire their. Shows the stature of the man both on and off the pitch to get that level of respect so quickly. Needs to be flown over so we can show our appreciation.

David was honoured before Real Sociedad and Madrid last night. Look at the appreciation all around from both teams.

That’s made me smile, I’ve just come back from there and bought granddaughter a Real Sociedad kit. Similar age to David’s girl but my granddaughter looks better in it though lol.

Totally different players. Yaya’s highlights real probably put him up there with anyone. As a consistent player who could run games every season for years David was the man.

No need comparing them. One was the bulldozer the other pulled the strings, although Yaya did have an element of playmaking in his game that tends to be overshadowed by his brute force and goals.
