David Silva

This season has been a funny one for Silva. Injured fairly early, and we started putting together some good results and great performances around Nasri. A thread pops up asking "Where are we going to put Silva?".. Many aren't quite sure.. Then he comes back, bosses it, and we all look a bit silly..

Another injury..

Some more good performances..

Another thread..

Bayern 2, City 3..

And don't we all feel daft again :D

What. A. Player.

He's been world class all season. The only sensible response to the 'where are we going to put silva' question when posed was 'first on the team sheet then we worry about everyone else '. That's been the case for all of his city career, but this season he has been at his majestic best.

We would have lost comfortably without him tonight. Remember how he changed the home game against bayern too? He bossed the game as soon as he came on. He delivers at the very highest level.

And he's ours. As you say, what a player. Nobody does it better.

Lesson well and truly learnt, Dave. Though at the minute I'd be writing the team sheet out something like,

S, f, i, e, l, r, v, n..

He's a diamond, not scared of any opposition at all. Just keeps passing through the eye of a needle.

Good to see his injury hasn't affected his form, picked up where he left off pre-injury - top top quality. Hopefully Nasri can maintain his form and we have two brilliant creative players in the team for Saturday.

I know it's a cliche, but he really does make everyone around him better. He's got to be one of the least selfish players around, and he's probably worth 10 % extra possession every game. Easily my favorite player.

Me too. Love the guy. Looking forward to seeing Nasri and Silva on Saturday.

Samir has played incredibly well while Merlin has been away. But lets face it, Merlin is at another level and has few peers in world football.

He is simply a fantastic player.

Should we put Silva in the middle again on Saturday? Have Nasri/Silva/Navas and sacrifice a ST, or Keep 2 up top ride Silva's momentum and have either Nasri/Navas on the bench?
