David Silva

Looks burnt out.

He's looked that way since xmas last year! Im surprised he got a new contract. But how the hell can he be 'burnt out'???!!! Needs a rocket up his arse and a spell on the bench as he's not worth his place.

Silva is made for La ligua, life would be so much easier. 9 others on the same wave-length, less brutal, much more technical, referees more amenable to skill, more shirt-pulling but less leg-breaking, the culture, the climate. Who knows, he aint sulking or hiding, limping, gasping, so it is a mental thing. Homesickness is pretty debilitating, a form of depression, you cant 'snap out of it'. Bollox or not you dont go from magic to tragic for no reason.

Would play better in a free role. Being slightly restricted to the left hand side right now.

-- Sun Sep 23, 2012 7:16 pm --

Bollocks this. When he plays in an attacking midfield role, not left midfield in some shite 4-4-2, he finds space in between the lines that he'd struggle to find in La Liga because of the pace of the respective leagues.

Dave will come good. He was unlucky today that Mertesacker played the game of his fuckin life and cut out pretty much every through ball he tried.

He isnt going to sign a 5 yr contract if he 'isnt interested'. Really.

Silva is just on poor form, which is partly due to missing preaseason, but mostly due to just being bad. He had plenty of chances to put people through today, but messed up. Still he kept trying to the end. It's not a serious long term problem, because he will find his form at some point. Short term problem, however. Against Villa would play Milner and Sinclair (if fit). If either play decently well they will start. If both play decently well then Silva gets dropped for the next match.

I will start him against Villa to see if he can regain a bit of form.

His form has been poor and performances inconsistent for months now.

I'm beginning to wonder if what we saw the first half of last season was just a purple patch.

Before the new deal = Played like shite.
After the new deal = Played like shite.

Time for Plan B whatever that is to get his form back.

Play him is the only anser BUT not at the expense of the team and hooking off Dzeko in favor Tevez when clearly Silva needed yo come off was / is bollocks

I guess though if you earn 200K a week you are always likely to start

can't really blame silva for today's performance.

too many players around him who arnte up to it. imo.
