David Silva

A lot of people are missing the point, as the original thread title was querying whether Silva is finished, regardless of how well he played at Hull in 2014, or how many goals he’s scored in previous campaigns
You can quote long term injuries, poor tactics, declining pace, or perhaps a poor attitude, when City are struggling for inspiration.
What you can’t deny is that Silva has been a peripheral player this season, never really dominating games, in the way that he’s done in previous campaigns. Consequently, our major playmaker isn’t creating openings. and if City don’t score early, we tend to struggle. Yes he's got assists, but not many when it really mattered
I keep reading about this magical operation in the summer, but Spain are at the Euros, and then he'll end up missing the start of next season.
One way or another, it needs to be sorted.

I thought the original title was ironic and having a dig at those who said he was finished.

?????? I think he doesn't need any operation?

Can't see Pep selling him immediately. He can definitely play a role in our success going forward. Out of our beloved old guard I can realistically only see Yaya and Zaba possibly moving on this summer

Silva playing badly is still better than most others on the pitch.

Nonsense, when he played badly this season he's had numerous stinkers - with others playing better than him.

Hopefully the weekend gone is a turning point again and he's kicking on again.
