David Silva

Silva's free kick against Korea - absolutely incredible. High over the wall with heavy top spin (dip) the ball goes in the top right hand corner - unstoppable. Another video from the traditional match camera position.

Perhaps he's practicing shooting for next season?
Bugger!
When's the last time he did that for us?
Has seemed to perform much better for his national team in the last year or so....
Let's hope it's something to do with Spanish managers.

To be fair to him, YaYa, KDB and Kolarov have better shots in terms of power but for accuracy that is astonishing. There must be less than half an inch between ball and post and ball and bar as it crosses the line.

It's a perfect fre-kick, in that it is right against both post and bar and gives the 'keeper absolutely no chance.

Keeper actually did really well it barely beats him, great attempt to keep it out. No cigar though :)

He doesn't often strike through the ball like he did with that free kick. He's scored some crackers where he just bends it with the instep (rather than higher off the shooting zone) but often you'd like to see him welly it a bit more.

Definitely one of the most gifted players we have ever seen and if we have seen his best, then we've been blessed, but I hope we get another few years of him quietly being ignored for all major awards as usual.

players only get every other summer off, what with their relevant regional championships, but last summer he had that pointless Intercontinental thing too, meaning he had no summer off for 2 years and now a third.

Despite 14/15 being considered a lowering of his high standards (as every journo monotonously churned out), he scored 13/14 goals (most ever in a season for us) and finished the season one goal and one assist behind player of the year Eden Hazard, without any mention or POTY nomination.
So when he has a 'bad' season, he actually has a hand in more goals than many of his 'good' seasons.
I know stats aren't everything, but an attacking midfielder needs to have plenty of goals and assists, otherwise everything else is just posturing.

I really hope he features in Peps teams. He's such a class player, his vision is amazing, difficult to get the ball off.

Pep will give David's career a huge boost. I'm looking forward to a cracking season from our magician.

I think this is the thing his boo-boys are overlooking. Pep Guardiola is our manager. No team is going to come out and attack us. No team is going to try and take us on and leave a load of space behind them.

They're all going to sit back on the edge of their box, defend for their lives and try to hit us on the break. We need players with intricate, eye of the needle passes to break down stubborn defences. Players who never lose the ball cheaply because it's too risky to give away possession cheaply in a high line attacking Guardiola team.

In possession there's aren't many players in world football more suited to a Guardiola team than David Silva.

Out of possession he needs to work hard and keep his shape, and I fully expect him to once he has been drilled on the training ground.
No one is overlooking anything you've said, however it's the bolded portion that you glossed over that will determine how much he plays.

Frankly though it all depends on who we get. If we bring in Pogba and Kroos, sure Silva will not be a starter. If we bring in no more Key CMs then sure he will. It's just that simple.
