David Villa to NYCFC

Bad move if he is going to Australia in my opinion, it's an inferior league to the MLS and I see his game diminishing a bit.

He should have trained and played in Europe, if City signed someone but couldn't play him for 6 months I would want him training in the best team possible.
 
Consider what Villa's future NY teammates will be doing over the same period. Some will be in American college. Others will be in their normal offseason routines. Villa will be coming off a World Cup and 10 games in Australia. Certainly in no worse shape than his future teammates.
