Yes, but he did keep us up with some pretty poor players.

He did and he gets some credit for that but i think if we were still watching what passed for football in those days we would be lucky to get the stadium half full,premier league or not.

I would argue that, certainly in his first full season, we had a decent enough squad to finish mid-table. He underachieved with what he had.
