And here's the story.
Nottingham Forest chief executive Paul Faulkner has resigned less than 24 hours after Stuart Pearce was sacked as manager, BBC Nottingham Sport reports.

Faulkner had only been in the role for five months, having officially taken over at the start of September 2014. The former Aston Villa chief executive has been placed on gardening leave, but the club are yet to confirm his exit. Dougie Freedman replaced Pearce as boss on Sunday after the loss to Millwall left them 12th in the Championship.

Owner Fawaz Al Hasawi said the poor run, which has left Forest 13 points off the play-offs, convinced him that Pearce had to go. But he said dismissing Reds legend Pearce was his "hardest footballing decision".

Pearce, who spent 12 years at the club as a player, is still considering taking up an advisory role at the club.

Wonder if they approached Warnock. He may be a twat but there's few better at getting teams out of the Championship.

I remain convinced Pearce too could have got Forest out of the Championship, as long as they weren't too particular in which direction.

He shouldn't ever manage again, he's clearly way out of his depth, he's tactically inept and only manages to get (very) short term success by tubthumping. He failed at City (lowest home goals ever in our 100+ year history!), he failed with England's U21's, and now he's failed at Forest. If he can't last more than 6 months at Forest, given the goodwill his history there will have bought him, then he's never going to last anywhere.

Psycho didn't fail in getting City relegated .
Like Benson and Frizzell and Ball .
What he did fail in was the football .
It was dreadful and something I never want to see at City again .

I think Warnock has turned them down previously. They're not a particularly attractive job atm as they've been sanctioned by the FL version of FFP so can't pay a transfer fee or pay a new player more than a certain amount (can't remember what it is) until they're turning a profit.
