Asked to leave the chamber for telling the truth about Johnson.
This is how low the moral and ethical standards of this nation have fallen. Liars can lie, call out the liars and be sanctioned. Disgusting.
Farage was called a liar in the European Parliament. Probs why the RW nutjobs wanted out.Though she is correct, liar, thief, blaggard, drunkard, etc are considered unparliamentary language and will always get you thrown out for the day, and not just in our parliamnent, but most round the world.
What is needed is a removal of such outdated concepts and allow freedom for our elected officials to call out a lying **** for being a lying ****
If the archaic Erskine and May rules that governed the so called Mother of Parliaments were brought up to date then why would it grind to a halt. The Turkish parliament had a decent brawl one time and I am pretty sure other Parliaments will at some point have descended into violence. When freedom of speech is denied because of those archaic rules then something has to be done about it and I would imagine there would be huge support for it.Not a fall, twas almost ever thus (Erskine May). Think it through, parliament would grind to a halt if "unparliamentary" language was allowed, not to mention the possibilty of brawls. The correct phrase to use is "terminological inexactitude".
The Labour party are a shambles of an opposition, but one brave lady took a stance and whether Johnson was there or not is irrelevant, it has had the desired effect and it has gone viral as they say.We all know that Boris is a liar and we don't need a Labour MP to repeatedly say it so that she can get Friday off and find herself in the papers. Boris wasn't even there ffs (barely anyone was) so what was the point?
Labour just aren't an opposition and they pose no alternative whatsoever, they are either a protest march or a weak thimble of irrelevance.
Anyone who pays any attention knows Boris is a liar and a fraud but there's millions of people who don't pay attention who vote for him because he comes across to them as a friendly, somewhat eccentric, affable character who they feel gets a hard time and is doing his best (e.g. my mother-in-law). Anything that raises his profile as an out and out liar, bullshitter and danger to the nation has got to be a good thing even if it only gets through to a few of the people who vote for him. They certainly aren't listening to Starmer however much he calls him out in proper parliamentary language on a Wednesday. We all know that Boris is a liar and we don't need a Labour MP to repeatedly say it so that she can get Friday off and find herself in the papers. Boris wasn't even there ffs (barely anyone was) so what was the point?

Let's hope so.The Labour party are a shambles of an opposition, but one brave lady took a stance and whether Johnson was there or not is irrelevant, it has had the desired effect and it has gone viral as they say.
It may well be the crack that brought down the dam.
Indeed.Meanwhile Rees mogg called Labour the party of human traffickers and the lib dems the yellow peril and the speaker does nothing.
