De Bruyne?

So while the whole media circus has focussed on De Bruyne we have snuck in Pogba under the radar for a surprise announcement causing a delay in this deal.

I don't see why people can''t understand that if a club doesn't want to sell a player then it's difficult and takes time to get them to do a deal.

On the one hand we have some here chastising Txiki with the now traditional FFS get it done. Whereas if we over pay then we'll have others screaming and roaring about how much money we waste.

It looks from the outside that we have de Bruyne willing to sign if we agree a fee. Wolfsburg don't want to sell and as such want to stitch us with a huge price. We however are taking it slowly trying to get the best deal we can. No doubt we will end up spending more than originally planned but equally it will be less than the ridiculous figures in excess of £50m we've seen quoted.

Maybe you noticed the text under the picture, it's says "Aktueller Stand" what means current status or current situation. Means nothing.

Can see him getting footballer of the year if/when he arrives. He's that good.

I see him becoming a more central midfielder long-term; Modric, Pirlo, Verratti and Scholes all began further forward, but became absolute top level players after moving deeper and utilising their supreme technique and footballing intelligence to dictate the tempo of games. If we are ever going to prosper in Europe we need to be able to keep the ball in the centre of the pitch, that's where we've looked inept in the CL, and KDB will be the man to address that.

He's much better in that (and every other) respect than Pogba, and if he had Raiola representing him he'd be 'valued' at £100m now.

By the time a club gets round to putting in a bid, they already know if the player is interested or not.
In theory, they're supposed to approach the club first, before ever talking to a player, but in reality, there are go-betweens that help to take away a lot of uncertainty.
'Tapping up' makes it sound very seedy, but every club does their 'homework' on a player, and that means discovering his openness to a move.

It's an uphill struggle getting footballer of the year if you wear a City shirt.
Let's not forget Kyle Walker got YPOTY ahead of Aguero - still staggers me that.
