De Bruyne?

Chelsea fans are doing their best to convince themselves that De Bruyne is a step down from Navas because he will unbalance the team.

He's obviously not a step down but there is a point to be made in all their idiocy. I'm not a big Navas fan at all, has all the attributes but too wasteful and no end product but he brings balance to the side, just his presence alone hugging the touchline helps the team immensely. If De Bruyne can come in and do that and also offer the end product then fantastic but i don't think he will. From everything i've seen from him (not a lot) that isn't his game, he's more in the Nasri mould in that he likes to drift inwards and whilst reasonably quick, never really runs directly at and past people he instead meanders and avoids tackles. Big decision for Pellers against Palace as to whether he goes straight into the team in place of Navas or does he persist with the individually disappointing Navas for the sake of the team?

There is some truth in this, but it will only matter against Barca, Madrid, Bayern and PSG. Even against the likes of Arsenal/Chelsea he will just make the team more dangerous and a serious threat from both sides.

I am slightly surprised about how pleased people are with this signing. He is currently a better player than Sterling, but for me Sterling was the better signing and has more potential.

De Bruyne is going to improve the team immensely, because unlike Navas he has unbelievable delivery from set pieces and especially crossing. He is a master at many different type of crosses. I expect he is going to get a tremendous amount of assist, because City will dominate games and allow him to put crosses in. If he plays 10 instead of Silva then he would shine more, but I don' t think he has the potential to be as good as Silva.

He is a similar player in many ways to Mata at his best. The kind of player that is going to always rack up great stats, but at the same time has weaknesses in his game that stop them from being the truly elite.

Overpriced, but still a very good signing. Will be Beckham like minus the defensive ability on the right and an excellent depute for Silva should he get injured.

At the same time I am the guy that thought Di Mara and Ozil would be star players in the league.
Excellent, so why the fuck did you bore us to death with your post?

Yes! They're also pretending Mourinho played this well. Like he could never have been good in Chelsea's system so he had no value to them, thus 18m is a great fee.

Ignore the fact that if Mou had kept De Bruyne, he would solve most of their current problems.

Are they? Bottlepool fans would claim he was a steaming pile of fucking shite that they don't need because some 14 year old local lad's just scored a hat-trick against the under 9's.

Chelsea obviously thought making a £10,000,000 profit on a squad player was good bussiness.

Reading between the lines on the first comment and that support treating every decision Mourinho makes is be a masterstroke.
