De Bruyne?

Definitely not good enough. A standout for an average team but an average player for a top team. He has nothing special about him besides his stat count. I'm struggling to identify what characteristics he possesses that will eventually turn him into a WC player.

Brilliant

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaah..... About that...

I don't speak a word of German, but could that be interpreted as Wolfsburg's decision not to sell him to Bayern? Doesn't mean they wouldn't sell him abroad - to us?
(Eternal optimist) :)

Exactly, it would be like UTD not wanting to sell rooney to us/chelsea/arsenal etc...well if rooney was better lol.

Makes perfect sense.

i think the same, we have him highly on our list and selling abroad with us as top choice should be a smooth affair

Hehe no, there's no room for interpretation. They definitely won't sell him this summer.

Don't think they would have a problem to sell him to Bayern in the future. The two clubs are quite interconnected. Volkskwagen (who own Wolfsburg) are minority owners at Bayern (through Audi) and their CEO is a board member. Last year they got Luiz Gustavo for a good price, Mandzukic went the other way a few years ago.

Ah just noticed - you are a Bayern fan
And an optimist like me obviously ;)

Don't believe a word of that if I'm honest. Whilst Wolfsburg might be on the up, they're no a power in Europe and will do well to get anywhere near challenging Bayern for the title. They might play hard ball on selling him, but if we offer enough money I doubt they'd be concerned with selling him abroad. It would be idiotic for them to sell to Bayern considering they are now establishing themselves as another rival domestically. The lure of Bayern has been enough for many players within the league but no club should have a good relationship with a title rival. You wouldn't see us being happy to sell players to Chelsea, we were back when we weren't a threat to them and needed the cash but we would never do business with them now on a key player.

Wolfsburg finished 5th last time out iirc and therefore were not in the CL. This time around things will be different and they will try to stave off Bayern/Dortmund from taking their best players.

Whatever Wolfsburg says they still have to sell if Kdb wants to go. It's all about the money they will get. It's around 35-40m that he should and Will go for Wither way

They do not have to sell him this year. They do not need the money - and - that transfer money does not run away as he will be as expensive or even more the next season. And de Bruyne does not really seem to force leaving this season. They do not have a replacement for him - and it will be difficult to get one as good as he is.

If he wants to leave they will sell to Bayern, too, if de Bruyne wants to go there. There is no problems between the two clubs.
The German player that did the big advertisings for Volkswagen in the last year was not a Wolfsburg player but Thomas Müller. Volkswagen needed him for their World Cup advertisings. The Bayern players are contracted not to do private car advertisings - so it was an agreement between the two clubs and Audi and Volkswagen, too.

The need for funds is irrelevant in that league. Bayern get their man one year or the next. Wolfsburg will have to cash in now to get maximum bang for their buck. Can see him repeating this seasons feats. Its up to them.

15 goals and 25 assists for a 23 year old midfielder is incredible.

Rarely seen him play for Wolfsburg, where does he mainly play? left, right or off the striker?

Typical modern number ten drifting all over the place behind the striker.

He comes alive on in and around the flanks in my opinion because his crossing ability is one of the main reasons he has so many assists.

He isn't that much of a silky player, for me he gives the ball away a lot more than you would associate from a number ten, but like Beckham for example he has that world class delivery that strikers adore.

I think he'll be at City next year. Bayern just assume they'll get everyone...the other Bundesliga clubs are bound to sprout some brains sooner rather than later and stop selling all the talent in Germany to those rags.
