De Bruyne?

Wolfsburg have stood firm over Kevin de Bruyne’s future, insisting they will not be selling the Belgium international.

The 24-year-old has been linked with moves to Manchester City andParis-Saint Germain this summer.

But Francisco Garcia, chief of the Wolfsburg supervisory board, insists they will not part with the former Chelsea midfielder.

“We don’t want to sell anyone, including Kevin,” Garcia told Kicker.

“Of course the player has to want to stay, but we’re not worried about that at the moment.”

Doesn't sound very firm to me. If the player wants to leave, he leaves.

the quotes and the "story" itself above basically say two completely different things. Stood firm and insists, yet if he wants to leave he can.

He does also follow it up with "but we’re not worried about that at the moment" which means he's confident KDB won't be unhappy staying at Wolfsburg, which is what all the ITKs have said. He's open to a move away, but won't force one.

I still think he'll be playing in blue next season, I just think that sometimes you guys read only what you want to - like highlighting half a sentence without the qualifying remark at the end of it.

So Wolfsburg aren't spending the big money as they did briefly, back in CL and haven't improved their squad to really compete. This is supposed to keep KDB interested in their project how exactly??

Well thanks for the observation and the condescending tone but I'm perfectly capable of reading the whole sentence. What I took it to mean is that de Bruyne hasn't intimated to Wolfsburg that he wants a move. They're not worried because he hasn't put a transfer request in and he's unlikely to do so until we make a bid.

Perisic has been wanting to leave for a long time now, it really shouldn't have any effect on De Bruyne as they've known that they've had to look for a replacement for Perisic for a while now.

It may not matter to Wolfsburg but if our purchase is contingent on selling Jovetic to Inter this may indeed affect our dealings I would think.
