De Bruyne?

Apparently, someone earlier said it takes 12 weeks to prepare a bid, so I reckon nearer October we should be ok.....

Love how they think mata is superior to de Bruyne. Only close comparison could be Pedro and sterling in the attacks of both teams IMO.

Lot of questions on Pedro for me, he's been available for awhile and none of the teams who could pay that level of wages where interested. United seem to have a free run at what sounds a very competitive price. I have always rated him but not really seen him play for 2 years consistently. I think Sterling could well prove to be a far superior player!!

Pellers said after citylive, we had enough strikers with Kelechi and RS but there could be one more signing

Cheers mate...I think many might be disappointed if there is only one more signing to come...with needs at LB/CM but I think its an excellent window if we could end it with De Bruyne.....

I'm working on the assumption that the club expects De Bruyne, but will keep working the Pogba deal until the last possible moment to see if it's possible.

Lots of reports have come out today and they all use the word "expect" 1 more signing.

So we expect to end the window with the current squad and KDB, but if Pogba is possible then he could be an addition late in the day.

Well said mate.

That's exactly how I see it

Hi mate, I've just watched Pellegrini's interview back on SSN, and it's not crystal clear that he only expects one signing.

He was asked about signing another striker and he said:

"I think that maybe we are going to bring another players, but not in that position".

Obviously that doesn't make grammatical sense, so I think he meant either:

We expect to bring in another player

or

We expect to bring in other players

From watching the video, I think the latter is more likely what he meant.

Hey, it's my pleasure to help out everyone's favourite poster on Bluemoon :-)

It's sometimes hard to tell exactly what Manuel is saying, but he did confirm we won't be signing another striker and that Aguero, Bony and Kelechi will be the three strikers, and he thinks Sterling can play there too.

Does anyone subscribe to Didi Hamann's view of KDB which is basically that the reason he is performing to such a high level at Wolfsburg is because he is at a club with no pressure. I personally think it's simply due to the fact that he is coming into his peak years and is starting to fulfill his potential. He also says De Bruyne is a good player but won't take us to the title. I disagree, he was voted Bundesliga Player of the Season, seems like he's a bit more than a "good player" to me.

He must be some player to get the Bundesliga Player of the Year when you consider the players at Bayern, and Dortmund. The only drawback is that it is the area of the team where we are strongest. We're not lacking for goals or creativity and added Sterling to the attack so ideally I'd have liked to strengthen in defence or midfield.

But you don't get many opportunities to buy top quality players. if we can get De Bruyne, and add him to Sterling, Delph and Roberts that will be 3 great signings, and one for the future.

Also means that in subsequent windows we only need the odd player. The bulk of the rebuilding will have been done.
