De Bruyne?

Could be to do with the financial problems you talked about a few days ago. 6 year contract means it's amortised down further and that means more money on the budget for a Pogba bid.

It could also be a reflection of the fact that the players we are signing this year are much younger than in recent times. No one was going to hand 28 year old Fernandinho a 6 year deal, with a 23 year old it makes more sense.

Yes, good points mate.

The club obviously have a lot of faith in the player by offering a six year deal. I think that's unprecedented for us with a new signing? I know Kompany signed a six year deal in 2012, but that was an extension rather than his first deal with the club.

Terreur is very well connected, and it ties up with what I've heard. I fully expect him to be a City player in the next few days.
Cheers for the info Ric. Hopefully see this one wrapped up by the weekend!

Do you expect it to be done by the weekend ric ?

If we get Pogba and De Bruyne, then I think De Bruyne will fly under the radar a bit because of the huge fee associated with Pogba and the stuff with Sterling. So I think he will be under less pressure to perform even if he goes for around £45m. I'm looking forward to see how we fit in all 3 (if we get them ;)) whether we go 433 like we did yesterday (great performance btw) which would mean leaving one of Sterling and De Bruyne on the bench or 4231 and putting Yaya in the no.10 position, which also means one of them has to play on the bench. Personally I would leave Yaya on the bench for biggest games (top 7 away, chelsea home, Barca, Bayern, Real, Psg, Juve) so Pogba and Dinho can line up behind Silva, Sterling and Kdb. This will allow the DS, KDB and RS to swap positions and we'd be good at keeping possession and counter attacking.

Sorry to ask Ric I know you are the King on here so not doubting you but some have said stuff like...'great signing'....is it that far down the line? Done and dusted?

excellent points domalino!;)

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but Mino Raiola's verified Twitter account follows only one Italian journalist Massimiliano Nerozzi (based in Turin) who appears to be linking De Bruyne with a move to Juventus.

Has anyone considered we are involved in a complex web here with Juve regarding Pogba and De Bruyne?

There was speculation last week (tuttomercato.com) linking Juventus to KdB but that was along the lines of a list of players that they are being linked with.

Principally, Julian Draxler (Schalke). A bid was made yesterday of €25m but has been declined by the German club. Patrici (transfer negotiator for Juve) has rescheduled a new meeting with the club in coming days. Personal terms have been agreed between Juve/Draxler. Schalke want another €5m at least.

Mario Götze (Bayern) Marotta met with the club when discussing the Vidal sale (which incidentally has yet to be finalized and it is taking longer than expected). Gotze is considering a move to Juve but has asked for 7 days to consider the situation.

Others the club have been linked with are Juan Mata, Oscar, Alex Witsel, Donsah, Alex Sandro and

Kevin de Bruyne, according to reports in Italy (GdS. CdS and Tuttosport lete last week) has indicated that if he does leave Wolfsburg, the likelihood is that his preference would be to return to the English premier league if an offer came along that met his wishes

Ha, I'm no different to any other user.

It's not done and dusted, but I genuinely think it will happen. Obviously the Delph situation shows you that things can change quickly, but I'd be surprised if it fell through.
