De Bruyne?

When you play one striker, you need goal scoring midfielders. Navas is a terrible goal scoring midfielder with the worst shot-to-goal rate in the Premier League (2nd is... Delph), De Bruyne is an excellent goal scoring midfielder with a good long range shot. Adding De Bruyne allows us to compensate for the lack of a second striker - he, Silva and Sterling will hopefully bring plenty of goals.

Navas is under rated. And what about Bony. I'd play a front 3 of Bony, Aguero and Sterling.

If Yaya can recover his old form we'd already be fantastically well placed but he has to be a doubt until the season starts.

We've been playing 4-3-3 all pre season, why are you playing Bony and Aguero?

The best part of having Sterling KDB Silva in attacking positions is that they are all comfortable in all 3 positions behind a striker.

Hi Marvin, Bony doesnt have the pace/quickness to play out on the wing mate.....his biggest impact is in front of goal....Sterling, Aguero and De Bruyne with Silva sat in behind Aguero would be the most likely set up, in my opinion! Silva is at his best when he's free to move around and look for the open lanes...

Are you mad?

Thanks True Blue

I watched the Wales Belgium game weeks back after we were linked with him, and he did nothing. But it was one game. I am not really backing my judgement of him based on that game because as someone else said Hazard did nothing either. I have seen the videos. I can't see anything special in his game, but the stats are amazing.

Many of his assists are crosses. Crosses can 'inflate' assist and chances created stats in a way. eg. Navas. Navas isn't what you'd class as a creative player but his assist/chances created stats would suggest he is.

De Bruyne has more to his game than Navas, of course, (goals for a start!) but I wouldn't put as much stock in his passing stats as I would a Silva or Fabregas, as through balls etc. are more difficult to pull off.

A fluid three behind Aguero will be great in the prem but in the champions league I think a disciplined, defensively minded 4-3-3- will be the way to go. Problem is then KDB and Sterling would be competing for a place in that scenario. Might come down to who shows they are willing to do more defensively, in which case it might be Sterling. Great dilemma to have though.

Still reckon kdb is over-rated. Mourinho doesn't normally get his views on players wrong so he shined in a 1 horse league? Could be an expensive flop... Or a cheap revelation
Would anyone have not taken Robben or Ribery in their prime at Bayern?

no.

Well neither managed stats as good as KDB.

You may even have had a point if KDB played for Bayern, that one team, in a one team league. But, Ermm, he didn't.
