De Bruyne?

Remember the golden rule on here, good journalist = positive story , bad journalist = negative story. Stop being so precious .
Why would our interest in bringing KDB to the premier league ever be a negative?
If Liverpool or Manure were attempting to lure him, would that receive the same negative reporting?
Not being precious just questioning the inconsistent approaches the press takes with transfers.

But probably one for the Agenda thread :-)

Was it Mike Keegan who said to someone on here that all supporters think that the press have an agenda against their club?

Ironically it's the more suvcessful clubs fans who think this, Chelsea, Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool ( lol ) fans all complain like we do but it's evident we get the brunt of it as all these clubs have more supporters within the media and City ruined the traditional Top 4

It does grate on me how many people seem to think Mourinho is a transfer god. That he knows absolutely everything about every player. If he isn't good enough for a Mourinho side then he isn't good enough full stop. Mourinho likes a certain type of player and he wants his players to fight 100% for his team whether they start or not. De Bruyne wanted game time so he moved on. It's worked out pretty well for him as he's gone on to win player of the season in Germany and he was very good for Belgium in the World Cup last summer too.

I stand by the fact that Edin Hazard would be twice the player if he was at City and allowed to play football rather than work himself into the ground. Yes you have to do defensive work but Mourinho still doesn't trust that Chelsea squad so it's another long hard season for his first 11.

Excellent point about Hazard buddy; he's some player now but imagine him with Yaya, Dave and Kun instead of the chav hard running robots.

And why does nobody mention Matic (who I rate massively, btw) leaving for £3m and being bought again for £20m? Maybe the special twat ain't so special after all. Looking forward to a good battle with these fuckers this season, and 12/5 looks pretty good to me right now.

It's even worse, Matic was a part of the David Luiz deal £25 million + Matic then re-paid £20Mil for him and received £40Mil for Luiz so £5Mil loss altogether. Not mentioned once.

What an embarrassing piece of skewed journalism from Martin Samuel. KDB Bundesliga 14/15 POT a prestigious award getting no mention. Mourinho's flop signings not mentioned. Selling Matic and buying him back for much more not mentioned.
De Bruyne and Sterling both have enduring real quality will be major players at the highest level for years to come. Well done City.

Just a shame the game against them at our place is so soon - I don't think we'll be quite ready for them

Really? IF we win tonight we will go into next week with a lot of confidence. Chelsea didn't look good or prepared vs Swansea even with mourinho dismissing the charity shield saying the real work starts on Saturday and all this bollocks. Most of our players have had a pre-season together except South Americans and a few injuries. Win tonight and our confidence going into the chavs game will be high.

Shame cos Samuel was spot on about FFP. I thought he was better than this.
Haters are going to hate.

Matic leaving had nothing to do with him. He was sold by Ancelotti as part of the Luiz deal. He did get rid of Robben, Mata, Ibrahimovic, Luiz and Lampard though. Transfers are almost always subjective so Mourinho might be right about KDB. Let's hope we find out he is wrong!

BM RisingTV: Day 1 of KDB week - if @SunMartinBis confident, you should be too... twitter.com/sunsport/statu…

SunMartinB: @BMRisingTV ha. Ive been confident on him since the spring tbh - and now here we are, nearly Christmas. A few jungle drums yesterday though

@SunMartinB even City can't mess this one up..surely!

@BMRisingTV Wouldn't have thought so. Player is keen and that normally only ends one way.

@SunMartinB Yeah, I imagine things will move pretty quickly once a fee with Wolfsburg is agreed.

I know where you're coming from Steve, but they didn't look great at home to Swansea. If we can get 3 points tonight (and I'd settle for a scruffy 1-0) we will have the opportunity to go 5 points clear of them next Sunday, and that's some incentive!

Wasn't aware of that, thanks TLWYS.
