De Bruyne?

What do you reckon Ric, medical Monday/Tuesday. Gives him 4 days training with the squad before he scores a hatrick against Chelsea :)

Hardly ground-breaking but thought I'd share it anyway because of where I've heard it from. A mate has just texted me with info from a mate who knows someone that works at Kitbag. The Kitbag guy told him about the Delph signing on the morning of the day that it happened - I'm guessing he broke it to him at roughly the same time Stephenhakin broke it on here (reckons the Kitbag guy stuck £175 on it before the odds started getting smashed) - and has said that KDB will be announced next week.

The lad who told me the other week about printing shirts with Delph, has just told me De Bruyne will join next week and will be number 14.

What are the current odds?

Sterling. De Bruyne. Pogba. Two out of three is a good transfer window (with Delph too, mustn't be forgotten). All three would have been brilliant. By the way , I know it should be on the other thread, and I won't labour the point, but I don' t recollect seeing anywhere whatsoever that a) we have at any point made a hard offer for Pogba b) it has been firmly rejected by Juve. So until that happens, I'm assuming that the treble is possible.

Good post but do you think a central MF of yaya and delph would do great agaiinst the pool away, u*d, arsenal and other matches of similar magnitude? If not who would you recommend instead? Oh! how I wish we went for Kondogbia. And yes have you watched Sevilla's Krychiowak or something, will he likely do well in our system?

I don't think a central pair of Yaya and anyone, will necessarily do great against any decent side. We would have to score goals & demoralise them & the whole team would have to work hard, or otherwise we have a problem. But no way on earth would I see a midfield of Pogba & one other player neccessarily dominating a top side either. It would make little difference whoever we sign imo. Juve had Pogba & Vidal vs Barca, & compared to Barca, they were just a pair of Milners, trying to do a job as best they could, nothing more. Barca still had 60 odd percent of the ball. It's a team thing, not a one signing thing.

We have Yaya, Fernandinho & Delph. That's a great 3 imo. And I'm hoping Fernando will come good but we'll see. But if we're playing v top sides, we need all the Silva's etc & the fullbacks, to do the kind of work Barca's do. If the whole team puts it in, we have a chance vs anyone, but on plenty of occasions in the past, they simply didn't work hard enough. Liverpool being a perfect example. Signing a player won't solve that, the whole team needs to work better.

Hopefully the adittion of Delph, Sterling, & DeBruyne will improve that & the rest will be more up for it this season.
