De Bruyne?

I think people are listening to much to every bit of gossip out there! As far as I am concerned we are still in pole position to land kbd, pogba, and sterling! I think kdb will be the first to land and I expect 1 or both ov sterling and pogba to arrive too! Don't worry about other teams rivalling us for there signature as harry redknapp once said we were blew out of the water!

Only heard really what tolmie has already said we have no restrictions on us now and won't have in the future! Our owners no the squad needs refreshing and they can do it while sticking 2 fingers up to uefa at the same time! I really expect us to flash the cash this summer and make a real statement!

I hope your right mate.....would expect to hear something soon, if we're all in for some of these players....should be an interesting few weeks....

Whilst there is no doubt that De Bruyne is a top player, his value is at a peak now because of the season he has just had. If Wolfsburg try and hold out another season then his value could dramatically drop. How will they cope with the added pressure of the CL? and will De Bruyne be able to replicate this seasons form when the opposition will target him?

Also, whilst there does seem to be some crazy fees banded about in recent times, the truly astronomical fees only seem to be applied to the true world class players/ marketable players. Is De Bruyne on the level of say Suarez, Bale, Pogba or Neymar? the answer is no. You look at the rumoured fee for Aguero and again it is highly unlikely/ almost impossible that Wolfsburg will get anywhere near 70 million euros for him. His marketability is also hindered by the fact that Belgium have a better player at a similar age and position in Hazard.

Chances are that players of his ilk have a ceiling of around 40 - 50 million euros in which a team would pay. The most likely scenario is either they accept a bid of around that amount or Bayern get him in a cut price deal due to his contract being nearly expired or having a clause.

I just think people are reading Into much the shit the papers write! I've just read 2 star articles 2 days apart 1 saying they weren't in for pogba and its between city and barca! And the other saying they were preparing a 58 million pound hid the next day! As I said I'd ge amazed if there wasn't 2 or 3 big signings with 1 being MASSIVE!

I agree....a lot of rumours this time of year and most of them rubbish (just sent another report to the Pogba thread, that Chelsea going to make a massive bid!; ) I just feel this transfer window could be the most important one for a while...without a massive investment of new talent players I could see us drop below Chelsea, Arsenal and the rags(if they keep spending like they have!) in the next year or two...so Txiki really cant afford to hang around....

Would he be worth £42mil(60mil euro) offer?

If Chelsea jump in and sign Pogba Txiki want's sacking.

We will be able to judge Txiki at the end of this window - to date he has been operating with his hands tied behind his back - this summer he needs to deliver - big time. We are all hoping Txiki delivers but there is little doubt that the elite clubs Barca, Real, Bayern are happy to carve up the best talent between them and its gonna be difficult for us to break into the cartel. We are going to have to pay over the top to get the very best and sometimes even that isn't enough.

I think this is a bit of myth in my opinion, it didn't stop him paying 30m-40m on Mangala.

Txiki has only got it right with Negredo, Fernandinho (who in my opinion whilst a top addition was never a 30m player), Caballero as he has helped improve Joe, and Demichelis who surprisingly was only a few million and was probably a Pellegrini request.

The rest are very poor additions that have either not improved us or have just been generally poor signings.

I think nearly 200m Txiki has had whilst at City and we are no better than when we won the league in 2012 in my opinion.

Huge summer for Txiki, last chance saloon.

I agree and I would bet so do the owners/directors! They wouldn't do all they have to let it filter away a couple of seasons later! Lets get it right we xan out bid anybody in the prem and offer more chance of trophys than any other team in england with Chelsea so people already asking for tixi to be sacked cos chelsea veing linked with pogba are pathetic!

I doubt it mate. But hungarian blue seems to think they'll spend 70m on him.
The figure was more of a guess, but Bayern can spend whatever they want on a player, and the friendly connections with Wolfsburg are there as it was discussed here already. If Rummennige and Beckenbauer and co. really want them, they'll get him and won't let him go to England.

In spite of that, I don't think he's suited to Pep's "tiki-taka" stuff, but Pep might go elsewhere next summer (haha), and it's almost declared in Bavaria that the executive staff stands above the head coach regardless of the exact personnel.
