De Bruyne?

That would be there or there a about's£7 mill a year, that would make him the highest earner in Germany yeah.

Ribery earns €12m/£8.6m apparently and last week De Bruyne's agent was talking about Wolfsburg needing to make him one of the top 3 highest players in Germany, so £7m sounds about right.

Is there really such a thing as a buyout clause that can only be triggered later? First time I've heard of something like that and it's only mentioned in 1 of the 3 tweets.

I'd take him for £50m though, it's expensive but that's to be expected.

Wasn't it Volkswagen who were making noises about not paying him a fortune? As he'd be on triple everyone else or something?

Hi MasterOfKnees, "if" the twitter rumours are true and Wolfsburg are willing to put in a release clause of 50mil.....it would be there way of saying, they wouldn't stand in his way of a move next year if he still wanted to leave....they would be giving him an increase but allowing him options in the future, if a team was willing to match their valuation...I'm no expert but I get the feeling lots of teams put release clauses in contracts.....what we got to remember is, there has been no confirmation yet if he's going to sign the new contract....and that's what we're waiting for....as this will show City, he wants to join us!....should be interesting to see how this goes.....from all the rumours over the past few weeks, it doesn't sound like they will let him go cheap, so could take a 40mil-50mil offer to get it done.....fingers crossed we get this done...Sterling and De Bruyne would give us great pace and width........

I thought Lewandowski was the highest paid in the Bundesliga?

? Wolfsburg are loaded with Volkswagen money. I remember them beating the goons to Luiz Gustavo a few summers ago because they paid too much for Arsene to stomach.

they paid something like 20M euros for gustavo hardly much money and that transfer i think had more to do with wolkswagen president(?) being a member at bayern leadership...and if the rumours (some weeks/months ago) are true then wolkswagen are going to cut their money at wolsburg from 80M euros to 30M euros..and last wolkswagen refused to pay diego 7-8m euros wages when he was their main man and then sold him i doubt they will pay kdb 150k/week who in euros will be more than 10m euros if we show up with 50M imo he will our player
