I can see us beating all of those club and league records that we set that season in the one coming. Although feeling optimistic seems to be a minority opinion on here at the moment.Looking forward to seeing De Bruyne in a City shirt. Don't agree with those who say we're weaker than last season - him and Sterling improve us considerably, and could be here a long time given their age.
Defence and central midfield still a slight worry, but hopefully we'll just outscore opponents like in 2013/14.

Give him a couple of hours and he won't be able to contain himself any longer.Any gossip you wish to pass on from last night mate ?

They don't even have to get back to their best, just play consistently and cut out silly mistakes. If we can get some constancy in our defense and central midfield i think we will be right up there for the title.Agree Ric, though you'd hope that if Kompany and Zaba get to their best, as well as an improvement from Mangala, we'd be more than capable.
Depending on how we set up and who is available, our midfield could end up being an improvement on last year. Neither Delph or Zucculini are world class but offer energy and tenacity that we often lacked last year. Add that to a refreshed Yaya and a ridiculous attack and we may be ok. Just need Vinnie et al to realise they work as a unit.

I hear you bud, but sometimes you do more damage longterm by panicking in the short term. Rodwell, Garcia, Sinclair, Fernando, mangala....(some are to be decided)
Good post.
Delph, Zucculini, dare I even say a fitter Fernando could all really add something to our squad this year, if we play the correct formation.
Absolutely, its like people have been brainwashed into thinking we have a poor squad. We were well under our best last year and we were comfortably second but a fair way of Chelsea. We have 2 or 3 key players who if get back to anywhere near their best, added to the players we have and may bring in will push us on to another level again.I think we are already the best squad, in fact I think we were last year too. I think we will win the title and do well in the Champs League. If we get Pogba as well as De Bruyne I think we are contenders for the Champions League.
Yet you come on here and the small-time-johnnies have us struggling for fourth place. PMSL.
The side we can put out now is more than capable of winning the title and adding KDB to the side makes us even stronger challengers.
Even with KDB added though i dont believe that the team is any better positioned to win the CL than they have been in recent seasons. I see us making the same tactical errors in Europe each season and I dont think our signings will change this.
I agree but not addressing areas and potentially missing out on the champions league is damaging also. If all the Pep stuff is true all we need to do is word up what kind of targets would interest him and get them in. If they aren't true then just crack on as usual. A wasted year after a trophy less one last season would be suicidal and I hope if that's the clubs approach they refund everyone for "wasting" a season!
He's into his hyperbole is our Tom.I suggst that anyone who thinks watching Aguero, Silva Sterling etc is a waste of time, should flog their season ticket now.
