what a player, just an old school demolition man. without him chelsea would have got back into the game towards the end, everytime they were building up momentum the beast charged through a couple of players and stormed off with the ball.

can see why hughes was willing to pay 18m instead of waiting

this guy is starting to make us tick!

I dont remember seing a better DM performance. He was fantastic. Even at the end after 95 mins of non-stop running he was breaking his neck to win the ball and break. This guy is a winner. Total determination backed up with no end of skill today.

Just immense, quickly turning into an absolute rock, was a bit iffy even if i did know he was quality when he first signed, just a settling in period i suppose.

He's fucking brilliant. I wouldn't like to be tackled by him that's for sure. Against the supposed best midfield in the league he looked better than ever and totally destroyed them. They'll know they were in a game today that's for sure. I can't think of a player who tackles more frequently and hard than our Nige.

de jong was brilliant today he just sits their and breaks up play and also like to single out richards(one of his critcs) aswell but overall the full team played top today a big well done to all
