de jong was brilliant today he just sits their and breaks up play and also like to single out richards(one of his critcs) aswell but overall the full team played top today a big well done to all

Just immense, quickly turning into an absolute rock, was a bit iffy even if i did know he was quality when he first signed, just a settling in period i suppose.

The thing was when he first signed he was just returning from a serious knee injury that had kept him out for a fair while- 6 months or so I believe. I have a dodgy knee myself, and I know just playing a bit of footy here how long it takes to get confidence back into it. I always thought last season that he showed plenty of quality and that it would only be a matter of time till he really hit his straps. He is our midfield enforcer, and I think as well he is beginning to add more to his game, i.e. learning when to push forward a bit more and his passing is also improving.

All great sides are built on a player like him.

I will put my tin hat on and say he's not got the best distribution and is never going to split a defence like Viera or Keane used to do but every game this season where we have got a good result, he has been immense.

He has dominated the Liverpool, Villa, United, Arsenal and now Chelsea midfield with his positioning, tackling and power.

Please will someone put that pic up of him sending Ashley Young in to orbit.

without doubt the best midfield performance by a city player in a decade...... he was super fucking human, and made essien look ordinary. And the lescott snipers....... behave, he has gradually got better and better over the last 5/6 games and deserves a real big pat on the back.
