De Jong easily motm

What a comeback this guy has done, started out very very poor, but was somewhat forgivable because he came back from injury. But I never expected him to improve so fast, well done.

The guy was immense today. Made a slow start when he signed but you have to give a player at least 10 games to settle into any club. Jamie Pollock will look at that performance and think that he should have been a kids entertainer instead. Broke up the play and i think went a long way to single handedly winning the game for us. The possession stats wouldn't have looked as close without him in the midfield today.

Credit to Lescott also as the same applies to him with the settling in point. Slowly but surely getting back to his best.

Jesus Christ, what a rollercaster of emotions that last 15mins was. I felt physically sick and nearly in tears at the final whilstle. God knows how the players and staff feel.

De Jong was immense. Totally bossed midfield and broke up everything Chelsea had, coming forward. Massive credit to Tevez who also played out of his skin, shame about his last pass where he could of played Ade in on the left but he went right instead. 3-1 wouldve been awesome. Given as well - What a series of saves early on and then the penalty.

Every player, to a man, gave absolutely everything this evening and how good were the fans!

More evening games please. The players coming off the pitch showed how much they wanted that game. More of the same!

What a weekend, totally buzzing!

When we signed him last year he looked ordinary and no better than what we already had (Kompany/Zab). This year he has been absolutely immense, what a player he really is, it's not often someone keeps the Chelsea diamond quiet but he was amazing.

brilliant performance from de jong tonight but my motm goes to tevez his work rate and tenacity up front was second to none and scored the winning goal.
