i don't know, it'd be nice to get a few clean sheets tis all.

We had enough clean sheets under Pearce, I'd be happy with 6-1's until the end of the season.

You're missing the point. A few 4-0's wouldn't do us any harm. This season won't come down to level goal difference - if goal difference at all.

I'm not missing the point at all. The question was what would you prefer a 4-0 or a 5-1. Well my answer was 5-1 as that is the better result and that cannot be argued.

I'm glad you can see into the future though and know that the league won't be decided on goal difference so thanks for that. At the end of the day I agree it is unlikely but you never know do you. I wouldnt turn my nose up at a few 4-0's by any means, but 5-1 is still a better result.

yes but the rules won't really matter if you win 4-0 every week. it's done on goal difference so it's only in freak scenario's goals scored comes into account.

Yes but in the eyes of the league one result is better than the other, so why wouldnt you want the better result?

We've got a run of tough games coming up: Newcastle, Liverpool, Arsenal, Norwich, Bayern, Chelsea, Arsenal. I'd be more than happy with a run of 1-0 wins!

A few clean sheets could also lead to a few 4-0's instead of 4-1's, which is clearly better!

See into the future? I said LEVEL goal difference. And I'm basing that on 10 games played so far this season. And as regards missing the point - some were expanding on the initial question. That's what I was referring to - generally speaking large winning scorelines to nil are far more satisfying. Goalkeepers and defenders would vouch for that.

Yes, the question was what would you prefer a 5-1 or a 4-0. The answer to this is 5-1 as it is a better result. If you are expanding and talking about lots of different results then yes mentally it is better that a team can keep a clean sheet.

Yes, the future. You have no idea what the goal differences will be like at the end of the season. So you quote that it wont be decided on level goal difference nevermind goals scored has no basis unless you can see into the future.

That is some of the most random logic i have ever read

BASED ON THE 10 GAMES SO FAR!!!!!!! We currently have +13 on the rags and +20 on both Newcastle and Chelski. That tells me - minus a crystal ball - that it won't be level goal difference.

Yes but the goal difference won't be BASED ON THE 10 GAMES SO FAR!!!!!

You see 5 games ago, the rags had a better goal difference than us. In 5 games time Chelsea might have a better goal difference - who knows, its the future.

And for the record this is what you said "This season won't come down to level goal difference - if goal difference at all." That suggests you know that it wont already which you dont.

No as I agree that it is unlikely. However, the league has been won on goal difference 5 times in history so its not unheard of.

Anyway, the argument was what is a better result 5-1 or 4-0. And the answer remains 5-1.
