De Jong Or Barry

de Jong is miles better but Hughes will start Barry.

We should play like this every week:

....................Given....................
Zabaleta.....Touré....Lescott.....Bridge

..........de Jong......Ireland............
Bellamy.........Tévez..........Robinho

.................Adebayor.................

And maybe bring in Barry/Kompany for stronger teams.

We only need one holding player especially against Hull.
However, in the past Hughes has dropped De Jong in favour of Barry.
Who do you think should start tomorrow Nigel or Gareth ?
For me it has to be Nigel.

Barry he has more in his locker than Nigel he's a bit too one dimensional sidewards, backwards (Kevin Horlock with more pace minus the deadly left peg)

Here's a classic Hughes line up belt and braces style

....................Given....................
Ricahards.....Touré....Lescott.....Bridge

Zabletta..de Jong..Kompany........Barry

.........Bellyache.......Adebayor..........

Hard to break down and batten down the hatches and the old ball over top to try and nick that goal to stop the inevitable bore draw

I agree we should play like that most the time but sometimes I think we should play 442.The difference against Burnley was the one holding player was not De jong.I'm yet to see Barry play the holding in a City shirt. It's like that goal he gave away against Burnley was because he tried charging up the pitch, and when he's playing with just Stevie he should just sit like he does for England.

Looks good to me (apart from no Petrov listed) - assuming because of injury

Wouldn't it be great to have Johnson fully fit fighting for a spot in the middle!

hope Adebayor is interested tomorrow

not sure what you mean by this but personally i think he has worked his socks of every game he has played and looks gutted everytime he does not score a goal.

barry normally for me just edging de jong for his better passing ability.

Can't see why De Jong is being bigged up this season just because he can tackle. Yeh he's good at destructive play and can do a job when needed but I'd prefer Kompany in there or Barry when he gets his Mojo back.

Could you not try and fit any more strikers in the line up.

Lee,

What I mean is that on his day he is completely unplayable! Top 5 World class striker!
I think he is very similar to Drogba in that matter in the way he plays

It wasn't a knock at Adebayor because I think he is a great player
I hope he has a star man game as if he does City win every time - he is that influential!

We can't afford to have him isolated though!
When this happens he seems to become deflated - maybe its mental frustration - I can understand this - he likes it simple!!

i.e. When there are players looking for the ball (Barca they always have at least 3 [short] passes available) - its all down to supply [ I'm not talking economics but you know what I mean] - did you see the perfect example of that against Inter

It's clear he doesnt like to play as a big target man (long ball) in the air [cos he's so great on the deck]

He needs players to feed off and players to feed off of him.

I mean he's my fantasy football captain - says it all really!

Come on City
