De Jong: "There is no concern about my contract"

I'm surprised that no numpty has said that Kia Joorabchian is his agent/advisor and he will be trying to squeeze as much money out of the deal as possible ;-)

Would they be wrong to say it?

Every single paper has this story now which begs the question - who told them all? Surely the club wouldn't, did De Jong himself or his agent? Did Kia the Snake get word of it and feed the papers info perhaps?

As much as I dislike Kia, I think city let this one slip. For one there is no negative angle against city, Kia would have found a way to twist and as things are it doesn't really increase his bargaining position. I reckon City are hinting to clubs that he is available for the right price and not coming outright and saying we want him gone in the summer which would significantly decrease his transfer value.

Manchester City prepare ground to sell Nigel de Jong in the summer

How could he turn down six-figure weekly wage !
Who will offer him more ?

If Ive read it right, the 100k offer he turned down was last season, maybe recently the offer is significantly less.

It doesn't really add anything to what has already been said, but I am staggered he could turn down that much money. I reckon you're right and he was offered the 100k at the beginning of the season. Whilst I disagree, I can understand his reasoning for bargaining for more as at that time as he was a key player. If that's the case he's messed up big time cos now I doubt he'll get over 80k - that's being generous i'd imagine - anywhere else if he's lucky.

Greed gets u nowhere guess he will be out of the door then. Seriously if it's true he has turned down 100k a week i'd fuck him off I like NDJ great player and nice guy but it'll take a hard working person 5 years to earn 100k. We have to show players we decide the terms and not them if there not happy leave teach anyone else to try it. Hope the reports ain't true tho and he does look and sound like he wants to stay who wouldn't?

A year old news but it's hard to get players with such commitment nowadays. Besides, he's the best at what he does.

SURPRISE SURPRISE

De Jong turned down £100,000 a week, now he could be out
By IAN LADYMAN; Last updated at 9:59 PM on 18th January 2012

Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong faces the uncomfortable prospect of being sold this summer after failing to agree a new contract at the Etihad Stadium.
Dutch international De Jong was one of City's key players last season but turned down a contract worth in excess of £100,000-a-week in the summer.
Now De Jong finds himself on the fringes of manager Roberto Mancini's plans and it is understood City will listen to offers at the end of the season if the 27-year-old has not managed to extend a contract that will only have 12 months left by then.

De Jong is a firm favourite with City supporters but undoubtedly his stock has fallen at the club over the last six months as players like YaYa Toure, Gareth Barry and James Milner have moved ahead of him.
City remain open about negotiating with De Jong but there are currently no plans for more talks with his agent Rodger Linse.
With Mancini now aware that players must be moved out before any major signings can arrive, De Jong could be sacrificed to make way for midfield targets.

He will not be sold in the January transfer window.
However, it was telling that with Toure away at the Africa Cup of Nations and Owen Hargreaves short of fitness, De Jong still failed to make Mancini's starting line-up for the recent Barclays Premier League win at Wigan.
He has only made eight starts in the Premier League this season and there is a feeling that he may have missed the boat in turning down what City thought was a generous offer last summer.
City captain Vincent Kompany is to combine his football career with life as a student after signing up to do a Masters degree.
Kompany, 25, turned down moves to big clubs such as Manchester United in his teenage years to complete university studies in Belgium.
Now it is understood the central defender has gained a place on a Business Administration course at Manchester Business School.
Sportsmail understands Kompany is likely to begin his studies at the start of the next academic year in September.

De Jong has only himself to blame.

1. He signed with that pr@ck Joorabchian, and that has sealed his fate. The club won't negotiate seriously with anyone represented by that @rsehole.

2. He turned down 100k/week

3. He doesn't understand that everything has changed.

a. We've moved on with regards to playing style and he doesn't fit any more

b. We've passed the tipping point with regards to recruitment. Players want to come to City now because of the way we play and the chance to win things.

Sorry Nige, missed the boat, ditch that bloodsucking non agent and accept a reasonable offer or move along.

Next!

He`s NOT his Agent !!

Best at what he does, this is good news.
Have you bothered to read this thread or simply the months old headline? De Jong allegedly rejected a 100K a week contract and may leave in the summer. How is that good news if Nigel is the best at what he does?

The @rsehole has never qualified as an Agent, never took the exams, so technically he's no ones agent, not even for Judas Tevez. So he gets some patsy to be the official Agent while he orchestrates all the scummy tricks and scams he's famous for in the role of Advisor.

So yeah, you're right, he's not his Agent.

If its true that he was offered 100k and turned it down, then he's a moron. De Jong is not worth more than that for heaven sake. he's a water carrier. he's a Deschamps who was a water carrier for Zidane. Its like Deschamps asking to be on the same money as Zidane.....people would think he is mad.

Dont get me wrong, De Jong is great at what he does. but its much easier to find players who can do what he does, rather than find players who has the attributes of Silva or Y.Toure. He really is deluded if he thinks there are clubs out there who is willing to spend huge money on him. The two spanish giants aint gonna touch him, the Italian top teams dont have the transfer fee and his wages....and lets not kid ourselves. If you have some money and can afford a huge signing to reach the next level. you are not going to spend your money on De Jong. You gonna spend it on a match winner.
