The kid who's just been 'moved' from his position.

So let me get this right, the manager didn't want these players but he was forced to agree to their purchase evn though it would be detrimental to his management ability and undermine his position?

Really?

Really.

The fact that you even ask that sums you up.

Just because of the fans? Come on, what happened when Milan sold Ibra and Thiago, how long their fans were rioting? It's just ridiculous to me, fans doesn't want their legend-player to leave... Nothing new here. So he should hang his head and burry all his dreams about playing somewhere else? A bit egoistic.

Actually I don't think that he wants to leave. He had a great chance 3 months ago and said no.

He was available for free last summer but he signed new contract, let him stick with his love now by cheering his team mates from the bench.
Where do you get your stuff from.

Everybody know that De Rossi had six months left on his contract last January and he signed a new contract to stay with Rome.

He also made a press conference to reject City and tells everyone that he will stay with Rome.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini wants to sign Daniele De Rossi in January
Roberto Mancini has urged Txiki Begiristain to make Daniele De Rossi his first major signing as Manchester City’s new director of football in January with the Italian midfielder growing increasingly unsettled at Roma.

Mancini and Begiristain held their first strategy meeting on Wednesday following the former Barcelona sporting director’s appointment at the Etihad Stadium 10 days ago.

Begiristain, a key architect of Barcelona’s success during the past decade, has been charged with driving the club’s first-team player recruitment policy in tandem with Mancini.

And having failed to lure De Rossi to the Etihad during the summer, when the 29 year-old instead pledged his future to Roma, Mancini now believes that the player is ready to leave his hometown club as a result of his failure to be impressed by the methods of coach Zdenek Zeman.

De Rossi, who can also play as a central defender in a three-man defence, is unhappy at being forced to play out of position on the right of midfield in Zeman’s 4-3-3 formation and sources in Italy believe the player is ready to cite his discontent in order to pursue a move to City.

And having resisted offers during the summer for De Rossi, also a January target for Paris St-Germain, Roma general manager Franco Baldini hinted at the player’s disaffection earlier this week by claiming, “Should an offer arrive for him (De Rossi), we will consider it.”

While Mancini’s admiration of De Rossi is long-standing, having attempted to sign him for Inter Milan in 2007, the Manchester City manager could face a battle to persuade Begiristain of the merits in pursuing a move for the Italy international, however, due to his age, £25million valuation and current wages, which see him earn £4.8million after tax at Roma.

With Yaya Touré due to spend at least a month away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast in January and February, Mancini is determined to bolster his squad in the transfer window and he regards De Rossi’s ability to play in midfield and defence as evidence of his potential value to the club.

Despite City’s latest Champions League disappointment on Tuesday, which saw the club’s hopes of qualification for the knock-out stages badly damaged by a 2-2 draw against Ajax, where their defensive frailties, especially from set-pieces, were once again starkly exposed, Mancini retains the support of owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan.

Senior figures at City insist that the Italian’s position will not be reviewed should they fail to progress in the Champions League, but Mancini’s unpredictability — emphasised by his post-match resignation, later retracted, as Inter manager following a defeat against Liverpool in 2008 — ensures that his own intentions remain an unknown quantity.

Incorrect. He was scheduled to give a press conference regardless of City's interest. And at no point in the press conference did he "reject" City. He simply said he's never asked to leave Roma, and that he would let the press and the fans know if that position ever changed.

I have been trying to find if there are updates to this. Do you have a source?

Nothing since August. I believe he'll be a City player by January anyway, though, as long as there's no Roma piss-taking re the transfer fee. Not sure where this would leave Garcia .. especially with his nice hair and everything.

Garcia that's it lets not even give players a chance to get used to playing in a different country or league. Give them 4/5 games and then fuck em off.

Anyone who already wants Garcia out should be forbidden to write on forums or speak in public.. screw free speech and all that..

Ffs, some people are bigger rags than rags themselves

Don't care what you think . We sold NDJ for peanuts and could've brought in Fellani or Dembele instead we brought a player who isn't fit to lace NDJ's boots and for a huge sum (at least compared to the price we sold NDJ and Benat's evaluation). Garcia's best day would be Fellani's or Demebele's worse day . You saw how Wanyama controlled the midfield in the game against Barca , same thing with Fernandinho in the Spartak / Chelsea game , Benat does it like every match day in the Spanish league . These are game changers and midfield dynamo's , the kind of players we need in the midfield . Garcia doesn't and wouldn't cut it .

You may as well say Dembele is better than Joe Hart, seeing as we are comparing people who have no similarity whatsoever.
