The source of the latest rumour

Translation =
As reported by Alfredo Pedulla on his official website, "the last hour there have been contacts with Roma and provide some email exchange. We had said in recent days that the City of De Rossi would have extended the offer until you pass the wall of 35 million. And the wall has been exceeded 40 million with the ability to go higher, considering the bonuses. And in a multi-year midfielder from about 7.5 million per season. Now the ball goes to Rome, the offer is the that they tremble. "

This Italian journalist claims in the last hours we've bid €40million for De Rossi. Having signed Rodwell does anyone really think we might still be in for a midfielder or is Rodwell seen more as a long-term investment meaning Bob might want De Rossi also?

Tolmie said forget De rossi.

Why does everyone actually take Tolmie`s words as gospel has he ever actually came out with something that has stuck?
not true that mate

Re: De Rossi

Some additional translated stuff :
The irruption of Manchester City to convince Rome to give Daniele De Rossi was born from a comparison between Mancini and Sheik Mansour. Disappointed by a recruitment drive without flash, the coach has asked white paper, with no limits, just to break the deadlock. And given the green light, the priority of the Manchester City now is to strengthen the midfield, considering the time lost to Van Persie. That's because the British will make a pressing just to get exasperated De Rossi, at the cost of raising the offer. It will resist to Rome ...

Re: De Rossi

De Rossi signing for us would be a good one, A direct better replacement for Barry who has played well for us, but who's age and injury at the moment looks like keeping him out for some time and would probably flare up again during the season.

Re: De Rossi

If we have made an offer for DDR then he must have given some indication that he would be interested, otherwise why bother.

Lol, very good :-))

Re: De Rossi

Cant make my mnd up to be honest - DDR is a fantastic player and would go straight into the team and would makle an immediate impact and is exactly what we need now but at 35 or 40 million or whatever there is just a bit of me that thinks Martinez (assuming he would come and is available) would be better in the longer term - maybe not quite the finished article but none the less as juch if not more potential than DDR

From a footballing perspective however either would be just fantastic and if the transfer window shut tomorrow i would be more than happy
