hummels,subotic,vidic,terry,silva,kompany,puyol,pique,ferdinand,chiellini,lucio,samuel,carvahlo,pepe, ramos,alves are all world class (some have lost a little due to age) agger is below this level along with about 50 others and has never approached the level that the above players performed at my mate.

Agger is better than skyrtal, there both similer defensive wise but agger is a better ball player. ask any liverpool fan and they will tell you that. Skyrtal and lescott are both class however maybe not world class and the reason why is even though they are as good at the main defensive duties, reading the game, tackling, marking etc, they are not good enough on the ball and thats why agger is better than them both.[/quote]

Let me elaborate as to why I like him. The way De Rossi plays, I believe is not something you can get from someone much younger than he is. That is what makes him so special. He knows how to close down on defenders at the right angles. His awareness on the field is what makes him so good. His communication. All these things you cannot get from young kids. You have to play a lot of football before things slow down for you on the pitch and you are able to read the game like this guy does. And the way he plays he could play for 4 more years for sure. Kompany and him controlling the back half of the lineup you cannot put a price tag on.

Also, if the owners believe we will be fine spending £40m, they know what they are doing. They have my full trust.

Great points. Look at how good Barry was last year and he cant even run. Age improves players like these. DDR is in his prime and would pretty much complete our first 11. We would be serious PL & CL contenders.

DDR can do everything, this is the one that mancini craves imo. he is the complete midfielder and can even play at the back its a big yes from me even at the price being reported.

Of course its not our money but we have to kill off this "money bag" image that we are now known for. Barca are on the verge of signing Song for some reasonable amount if that were us the price would have been £30Million + . If we go with the current DDR price we would never be on the green side of the transfer market (financially) because the price of EVERY other player we show interest in would be doubled. We have to kill off the money bags image and no better time to start than now .

he is world class (when hes actually fit) Not only is he great at the usual defensive duties but he is great at bringing the ball forward and getting a team moving the ball quicker.

How much would you say Yaya is worth?

I ask because he is the same age as De Rossi and is as important to us as a team, as De Rossi is to Roma (and that's not taking into account the obvious emotional/personal connection between DDR and Roma)
