I confirm the great interest of Manchester City to De Rossi, I'm in Manchester, until half an hour ago I was with Roberto Mancini, to him, you know, much like De Rossi, the City has so far not often practically nothing on the market, so I tend to believe that if you decide to treat De Rossi would have the economic means to make an offer to the height. " Giorgio De Giorgis, a friend of Roberto Mancini and agent of many players, speaking on Tele Radio Stereo away the rumors Daniele De Rossi close to Manchester City. "It 's Rome in that case it would sell De Rossi until proven guilty and so far the company has always declared the player not for sale, from the day of the renewal of the contract by the mouth of Franco Baldini. I do not know if Sergio Berti, Agent De Rossi, both in England and specifically in Manchester as the press writes. "
What does this mean
It means that Roberto's Italian friend has been with mancini today and yes he thinks we are interested and can afford him, but that he doesn't know if the player's agent is in manchester.

This is another Italian web-site version of the same radio interview

OME League MANCHESTER CITY DE ROSSI / ROME - Giorgio De Giorgis, FIFA agent very close to Roberto Mancini , has been interviewed by teleradiostereo , commenting on the story De Rossi-Manchester City : "I know nothing about the offer of the City, so that c ' is a concern, but nothing more. I heard Mancini - he says - it is absolutely certain that he wants the player and that he likes, because De Rossi is a player that everyone loves and everyone wants. In any case - he explains - the sale of the Roma is tied to the will of Rome, "he concluded.

Would be nice to have DDR before we play Liverpool away.

I think if there is a deal to be done now is the time to move quickly.

Looks like Agger deal dieing a death so we need to target another CB quickly also

Right, so you say Yaya is worth £50 million and that if the club were to sell him that's what they should be looking for, at least.

So why can't Roma feel the same about De Rossi who is as, if not more important to them?

John O'Shea was a CL player, DDR has played in the CL, just because Roma didn't qualify this year doesn't make him less of a player.

Because they're broke and probably couldn't afford to fuck of a 25 million offer, let alone 50. While we could. It's not just how highly they value him, they have a completely separate set of financial circumstances that determine what they can/can't say no too.
Broke like United are broke?

Are you insinuating that a broke team couldn't or shouldn't plunk down 24 and 4 years on a 29 year old? Touche. Total heresay, obviously, but from following this outside of Italy and talking to some Roma folks I know, they seem to need the cash, and certainly don't have the global clout to play the fiduciary shell game United is able to. Or maybe they're just not as stupid and short sighted.

If the American owners truly are following a " money ball" model then they are by definition a selling club. I see great hope there for us to sign DDR.

Suspect if City get DDR they can abandon thoughts of signing Agger. Can't see us going for both

Mancini confirmed today that City still active in the transfer mkt.

-- Fri Aug 17, 2012 4:37 pm --

This is probably the last moment for Roma to sell the player for a lot of money, and for the player to play in a top League outside Italy.

The perfect player to both partner Yaya in our shape from last season but also sit between Vince and JL if we move to a 3, totally worth anything around 30 million in my view. Another leader as well, fantastic. Please make it happen.

Plus when was the last time we had a properly bearded player?

He could sport a decent one, but never took it full-lumberjack unfortunately.
