Some players are worth it mate and de Rossi is special.
If people are willing to pay fuckin £20 million for Jordan Henderson and ask £15 fuckin million for Steven Fletcher, then yes we have to pay top money for top players.Especially ones with new contracts and when the team doesnt want to sell.

well to be fair mate, comparing a Liverpool deal and a value on a player that no one decided was worth it. well its not comparable is it ?

Even if you did take the two figures you gave as genuine, both of those players have a resale value. In the case of DeRossi we will be lucky if he is still a first team regular at the end of his contract.

Big fees are great for players like Derossi if he was in his early 20s, but we are just a retirement fund in this case.
Whats the big obsession with resale value and what the point of paying £20 million for someone who is not even worth £10 million.I'm more than happy and grateful with our team but in Europe we lacked experience and this is the kind of player we need for Europe.

The announcer, the dry cleaner, the Roma fans, the Italian newspapers and uncle tom cobbly and all can all say what the fuck they like about this transfer but until either an official statement from either Manchester City or Roma is put out then everything else is just opinions, hopes or bullshit. Right i'm off to get a Pizza from the local takeaway and see what they know about it.

I'm still hoping he'll wave goodbye to them all at the end and drape his shirt in the centre circle before an announcement's made tonight or tomorrow.

If Carlsberg did transfer developments and all that...

I feel like im the only City fan who feels this a tansfer we desreve to take stick for if we pay anything like the figures being quoted...

the lowest ive heard was £30million, for a 29 year old ? plus he already earns £180k wages at Roma, he isnt comming for less than £200k ...

I cant be the only person who thinks those figures are stupid...
Some players are worth it mate and de Rossi is special.

I fear that we are building him up into something that he is not. He has played his whole career for one club and been a star in that team. No doubt he is a very good player by all reports and in many peoples view. However, if the the opinion of many on here is to be believed, then if we sign him we will be guaranteed a domestic treble and the champions league. Think people are going a little overboard imo.

I think the thing that is exiting people is the fact that he is a win at all cost type of player. Pardon my french, but he's a dirty fecker, aggressive, angry, determined bastard.... these are exactly the things that our tippy tappy team need... and he can 'play' too.

His 'type' is our missing link.

We've got no devil in us.

He's it!

I'd rather spunk 30mil on De Rossi than Van Persi!

He wouldn't make it out of the stadium alive!

De Rossi could of course be the next PV!
