If, as expected, he does'nt sign who gets to shoulder the blame?. Is it the club as a whole, Marwood,Bobby, Sheik Mansour who?. Having failed to land any of our known targets. There must be something wrong with the transfer strategy at the club, unless it comes down to the fact that FFPR has really taken effect and the club are being overly cautious with this in mind. Having said that, surely Bobby would have been aware of the funds available to him before he signed his new contract, unless of course he was'nt given the correct info at the time. I very much doubt that when he discussed the players he wanted to bring in that the likes of Rodwell and Sinclair were at the top of his list. I know that we don't have a god given right to sign all of our targets, but i just find it very strange that we may not sign any.

Perhaps non are available at a price we are willing to pay fee wages agents etc. or some players just might want to stay where they are

Agents want to take the one final chance to get the commissions that they are used to getting, but won't be able to get as of next summer (again, IMO). But in the case of DDR, I honestly don't believe you can blame anyone. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

The word I can't stand is "snub". Every paper and media outlet will say De Rossi snubs City. They always say that, as if it's some big fucking insult.

When what they really mean is De Rossi decides to stay at Roma. Or De Rossi choses not to take up City offer.

God I hate the press. Vermin the lot of them.

do what I do , just shrug your shoulders and have a big wank

If he says he wants to stay at his boyhood club, the one he supports, that's not a lack of ambition because Roma are more than capable of competing for the Serie 'A' title or at least a shot at a CL qualifying spot. If his family are settled there I would have thought that will be a large chunk of what has gone to him wanting to remain where he is. Sometimes family has to come first. In my own job I could move up the ladder a notch, but it would absolutely disrupt my home life and the time I spend with my kids so I choose to stay where I am. That's not a lack of ambition, that's doing what is best for all concerned.
If De Rossi says an offer was there but he has refused it for the reasons above, it's fair do's and good luck to the man.
