I'm hoping pretty that the reason that Javi Martinez hasn't joined Bayern yet is because of us waiting for the De Rossi answer, and him waiting to know if we have concrete interest in him.

Whilst Manchester isn't exactly the Bahamas, neither is Bilbao & neither is Munich, and we have Silva, Zabaleta, Aguero & Tevez who all speak his language (whilst Bayern have Gomez and - I think - Alaba).

Btw, delighted to see Utd lose last night.

Alaba's an Austrian of Afican, they have Claudio Pizarro though.

They also have 3 Brazilians (Gustavo, Rafinha and Dante) who can probably speak a fair bit of Spanish.

What makes you think that? Isn't the official language of Brazil Portuguese?

If he was planning this surely the club would get in first and say we have ended our interest. Letting De Rossi play us twice is crazy but a third time would be unforgivable. If things play out as anticipated it would certainly look like we have pretty much failed to land any of our targets (rodwell excepted) this summer - with a new CEO in place I think he will use this to make some changes to our transfer strategy.

that was initially my thought but then i thought back to the Kaka saga and it dawned on me that it seems Italian clubs enjoy a bit of public humiliation when it comes to us, its as if its a statement

Its just a standard press conference Roma holds for each of their star players. DDR is not holding a special press conference just in order to snub us publically

Its just the bluemoon flappers that have got the pants in a twist over this......IF he comes he does, if he doesnt he doesnt...not too bothered either way to be honest.

the priority this transfer window should have been centre half cover (agger was the obvious target) but that hasnt happened......other priorities should have been an upgrade on dzeko (may still happen?) and cover for yaya (virtually improssible as there isnt another player in world football who has similar attributes....maybe fellani bu thats about it)
