De Rossi

Other than Silva, I'd start this guy over any of our current midfielders.

If Mancini can pull this off, he will be a fantastic signing.

What a joke, he's not even close to being as good as Yaya currently.

Are you being serious?
Have you actually seen him play, I hate to say it but De Rossi is far better than yaya in every area of the game.

Is that a joke? My thoughts on De Rossi are in this thread if you care to read. I think it they show I've seen him play.

He isn't better than Yaya in every category. On current form, I'd say he isn't better than Yaya in any category.

De Rossi has a knack of going in too late on his challenges. His positioning leaves much to be desired, although he reads the game pretty well. He tries to be a regista and spray balls, but a lot of the times the balls are shite or weren't the most intelligent option. He's missed ridiculous amounts of passes really. Usually from trying to do too much, but not always the case. He shoots from outside the box to Row Z more than Yaya. He's not that fast, maybe around the same as De Jong. Yaya is the better passer, and is more technical. Yaya also loses possession far less than De Rossi. Let's not forget Yaya is more dynamic as he can play AM, DM, CM effectively. His touch is inferior to Yaya, list goes on.

Need I go on? If I make a comment, clearly I've seen him play enough to feel confident to post it online for the world to see....

That said, every player has their weaknesses. Still though, on his day, De Rossi can be a monster, but he's hardly the player he used to be. The guy diminished in his game in 2009 and 2010, he's certainly not the 2007 and 2008 player anymore and a lot of Roma fans noticed this too....well that's a clear thing. Possibly the easiest thing to see is the amount of passing mistakes he has done. Lately, though I've watched him and he seems to be finding some old form which is promising. Still would be worth a punt, though imo.

de rossi has started this season very very well mate. he seem back to his best. rumors are that he has a new girlfriend and is finally out from the nightmare in his personal/family life.
if the coming months will confirm his form i'd say your analisys is almost completely wrong , i love yaya and rated him absolutely high , but de rossi at his best surely is not an inferior player to yaya.

Yes Mancio, I've noticed that why I said he seems to be finding some old form, but I'm still not convinced because he doesn't look the part fully yet.

he is for barry substitution.same pace of barry but i have always liked him whenever he plays.he will be a tarter for city and is a perfect for mancini plans.3 midfielders who can defend create and hold the ball.he will be one of them alongside yaya dejong

he won't like being called a tarter mate

-- Mon Oct 31, 2011 3:53 pm --

has he signed a new contract with Roma yet? If not then a pre contract in Jan and free transfer in summer would be brilliant business, absolutely class player

Would rather we went for Javi Martinez as he is younger and can play both CMF or DMF. I like De Rossi but how many year does he have left?
