Chelsea and Manchester City target Daniele De Rossi will reject a move to England and sign a new contract with Roma, according to his agent.

The Italian has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, and both Chelsea and City have reportedly been tracking his progress.

But Ernesto Bronzetti has revealed that the 28-year-old wants to stay with his hometown club rather than move to England.

"De Rossi will continue with Roma," Bronzetti told Italian TV station Italy 1. "They are negotiating at the moment, but in the end he will sign a new contract."

What's the banter with Martinez? Only heard the little bit from Guiam Balague, has there been any more rumours?

Just what GB said/Tolmie said we could make a bid.

Did TH really say that we are gonna make a bid?

Martinez is a stud, but it's gonna be difficult keeping everyone happy and giving everyone the minutes they need to develop, adapt, getting confidence etc.

Roma board meeting to decide De Rossi signing for Man City

Daniele de Rossi's future is set to be decided by a board decision at AS Roma.

Roma's new board are to come together to decide how high they should go to keep De Rossi in Italy.

Manchester City have left their €9 million-a-year contract offer on the table for De Rossi to mull over as his deal winds down. He can commit himself to a pre-contract with City from January 1.

Only last month, Mancini said: "If De Rossi becomes available one day, Manchester City will try to sign [him], just like Real Madrid, Chelsea and all the other big clubs.

"He’s a superb player and one of the few who would be able to blend in a top team. He’s a complete midfielder with a lot of quality and experience.”

De Rossi playing for us just seems to good to be true. I'm sure Mancini would absolutely LOVE having him here, for several reasons.
