It seems that our offer (a huge contract worth over £150k/week going off paper reports) is on the table for him, I think he'd rather stay in Rome but they still aren't matching his demands giving him a dilemma as he's a Rome boy through and through and probably wants to stay.
As far as transfer fee goes you'd think we could get him for little but I still remember how much we paid to get De Jong early to keep him out of the hands of other clubs. But we aren't such pushovers now and surely a bid of around £10m could get him if he decides to move?
It's all up to De Rossi but what a signing he would be so long as he settled in England. He and Yaya are two of the classiest midfielders around and would be in the same team.

We could perhaps see our summer budget brought forward for the right deals, meaning outgoings only next summer.
De Rossi is one player City won't want to reveal their hand over, if it's on, it will happen very quickly and shock everyone (apart from on here, perhaps!)
I doubt the club will want to be seen as a stalking horse and be used for simply getting De Rossi a better deal with Roma.
By all accounts, it was close in the summer, but Bobby was blocked because we had to balance the books as Tevez sale fell through.
And why we turned to Hargreaves. If Roma don't come up with the folding, I seriously think it is a deal we can make happen.
Maybe Chivu on a free and can keep Pants company.
