De Rossi, Roma ultimatum expires Friday

If you miss the deal, the sale in January

PAUL BARGIGGIA03/01/12

The change strategy on Roma De Rossi and fixed Friday the ultimatum for a response from the player. Farewell to the line so soft and patience, with the aim of forcing the midfielder to take responsibility for the precise opposite the city of Rome. The Giallorossi also reported to De Rossi and his agent, that the offering of 6 million net per season for five years, will no longer be doctored up.

The moment is very delicate, the change in strategy of management is also the son of a growing tension with Sergio Berti who is the prosecutor of the midfielder. In addition to the continuous delay in the renewal option, the conflict between society and the agent is also about the delicate subject of the value of the commissions on any new contract: a figure of around 3-4 million euros will be for the prosecutor. In short, according to the Roma, the main responsible of this situation that is leading to the rupture would be Sergio Berti, who still, at this time, the total has the approval of the father of De Rossi, who is also the coach of AS Roma spring.

So what will happen on Friday? If the player does not take the field to break the thick web that has until now prevented from going to the renewal, jump the counter and Roma will try to open a zip negotiations with Real Madrid, rather than with the City, to give De Rossi suffered at least 10 million in January. The relationship between Baldini and Real are great, the operation Gago is a confirmation. The Rome thinks he has done everything possible, even suggesting a possible out clause in case of renewal, so far not accepted by the other party. De Rossi, however, would hardly in a position to lose the club at no cost, and with damage at the end of the season. That's why the hypothesis of a transfer in January, to finance the purchase of Casemiro Santos, a possible heir of De Rossi, not be overlooked.

Think i will wait for Tolm to press the green button to be honest!

I'm hoping the fact that Mancini is Italian and a massive admirer of De Rossi will help tempt him, he could really improve City as a team.

This is an accurate summary of the article...

Roma have given Daniele De Rossi until Friday to decide whether to accept their offer of a new contract. They've offered him 6m Euros per season for the next five years, their last roll of the dice. There's a problem with his agent demanding b/w three and four million Euros commission for brokering the deal, which Roma are fuming about. Piece goes on to say it's a startling change of tactic from Roma, who up until now have been patient with a softly-softly approach to the player because of his status and the club. That patience has now ran out it seems. The reason for their haste is as we suspect; if they don't sell in January then they'll lose him for nothing come the summer. Hints that De Rossi wouldn't want to do that to his home town club, so if he goes it will be in this transfer window. Apparently Real Madrid are interested too, and Roma reckon they can get Gago in part exchange. They are also happy at the prospect of an auction b/w Real and City should De Rossi express a wish to move on.

That's the end of the De Rossi thread then :P

Seriously, my hopes are De Rossi and Defoe in this window, maybe a CB too. Defoe on loan preferably. But definitely De Rossi. He may need time to adapt but he would be a very welcome addition.

The talk of Real wanting De Rossi is worrying in that Italian article, one of very few clubs who can beat us to a player nowadays. They already have a trillion midfielders but Mourinho is still trying to complete a Barca-killing team and De Rossi could be part of that.

I would hope he sees it that he may never get a game at real, or at least fewer than he would with us.
